Science-Based Targets: On Target? [PDF]

open access: yesSustainability, 2021
Companies are increasingly seeking to align their actions with the goals of the Paris Agreement. Over 1000 such companies have committed to the science-based targets initiative which seeks to align corporate carbon reduction targets with global decarbonisation trajectories. These ‘science-based targets’ are developed using a common set of resources and

Targeting Target Shareholders [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2014
We integrate heterogeneity and uncertainty in investor valuations into a model of takeovers. Investors have dispersed valuations, holding shares in firms they value more highly, and a successful offer must win approval from the median target shareholder.

MicroRNAs – targeting and target prediction [PDF]

open access: yesNew Biotechnology, 2010
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a class of small noncoding RNAs that can regulate many genes by base pairing to sites in mRNAs. The functionality of miRNAs overlaps that of short interfering RNAs (siRNAs), and many features of miRNA targeting have been revealed experimentally by studying miRNA-mimicking siRNAs.

Production targets [PDF]

open access: yesThe RAND Journal of Economics, 2008
We analyze a dynamic model of quantity competition, where firms continuously adjust their quantity targets, but incur convex adjustment costs when they do so. Quantity targets serve as a partial commitment device and, in equilibrium, follow a hump‐shaped pattern. The final equilibrium is more competitive than in the static analog.

Molecular imaging diagnosis of atherosclerotic vulnerable plaque in rabbit carotid artery using a self-assembled nanoscale ultrasound microbubble contrast agent

open access: yesReviews in Cardiovascular Medicine, 2021
This study aimed to prepare an anti-Vascular cell adhesion protein 1 (VCAM-1) nanoscale ultrasound microbubble contrast agent using the hyperbranched self-assembly method for the molecular imaging diagnosis of atherosclerotic vulnerable plaques in ...

Response to selpercatinib in a patient with RET fusion-positive pulmonary large-cell neuroendocrine carcinoma: A case report

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2023
Large-cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC) is a rare subtype of non-small-cell lung cancer associated with a poor prognosis. LCNEC is genetically heterogeneous, and studies have revealed distinct molecular subtypes of LCNEC, which may have therapeutic ...

PEGylated-folic acid–modified black phosphorus quantum dots as near-infrared agents for dual-modality imaging-guided selective cancer cell destruction

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2020
Biological systems have high transparence to 700–1100-nm near-infrared (NIR) light. Black phosphorus quantum dots (BPQDs) have high optical absorbance in this spectrum.

Insights into molecular pathways for targeted therapeutics in acute leukaemia

open access: yesSwiss Medical Weekly, 2010
Despite the development of modern chemotherapeutic regimens, acute leukaemia remains incurable in the majority of adult patients and potential cure is associated with considerable side effects. Clinical and experimental research of the last two decades
