Taurine and proliferation of lymphocytes in physically restrained rats
Background Taurine is present in lymphocytes and seems to modulate certain immune cell functions. Among the effects of taurine on these cells are protection against antioxidants and regulation of inflammatory aspects of the immune response.

Optimization of novel compounds using computer‐aided drug design for treatment of cardiac arrhythmia
Background and Purpose Loss‐of‐function mutations of the voltage‐gated Kv7.1 (KCNQ/KCNE1) channels lead to cardiac arrhythmia such as long QT syndrome, characterized by a prolonged QT interval . One strategy to correct the prolonged QT interval is to design molecules that activate KCNQ1/KCNE1 channels and restore the QT interval.

The infant formula‐based diet (F), the whole powder milk diet (P), and dry‐cured ham (H) were evaluated for rearing Piophila casei. H accelerated development, promoted earlier reproduction, and achieved the highest demographic performance but showed practical limitations linked to substrate deterioration. F enhanced larval survival and adult longevity,

Fetal growth restriction is associated with placental metabolic adaptations. In small‐for‐gestational‐age placenta (SGA), cholesterol receptors and steroidogenic enzymes are upregulated, enhancing steroidogenesis. NAD salvage pathway is also increased to support NADP+/NADPH requirements.

Genetic Relationships Between Residual Gain and Economically Important Traits in Nellore Cattle
ABSTRACT Sustainable beef production requires identifying animals with superior feed efficiency to reduce environmental impact and production costs. This study aimed to estimate heritability and genetic correlations between residual gain (RG) and growth, reproductive, carcass and feed efficiency traits in Nellore cattle.

TAURINE AND THE CARDIAC SARCOLEMMA. [PDF]
Taurine is by far the most abundant of the sulfur amino acids, levels in the heart exceeding the combined quantities of all others. Taurine exhibits extensive cardiovascular pharmacology, including inotropic and antiarrhythmic properties.
