Medicinal plants used in ethnobotanical traditions to treat or prevent diseases have gained renewed interest for their largely untapped potential in drug discovery. In this study, we developed and tested novel methods to prioritise plant species based on their unexplored medicinal potential. By enabling researchers to target the most promising species,

Separation of a tungus producing taxol [PDF]
An endogenous filariform fungus has been separated from a tree named Taxus growing in the Aba region, Sichuan, China. The fungus is fermented in fluid medium for 3 weeks at 25 degreesC, then the HPLC and MALDI-TOF analysis of the zymotic fluid show that ...

The performance of Taxol score in the training dataset. [PDF]
The survival of Taxol-receiving and Taxol-depleted groups was comparable in the high Taxol score group (A), while survival of the Taxol-receiving group was significantly better than the Taxol-depleted group in the low Taxol score group (B). The Taxol and

Combined decitabine and Taxol induce MCF-7/Taxol cells pyroptosis. [PDF]
A. The integrity of cell membrane was determined by the LDH release assay of breast cancer cells with 640nM Taxol. B. Flow cytometry was used to detect the incidence of pyroptosis in breast cancer cells treated with 640nM Taxol for 24h. C. The expression

BackgroundTaxol is a microtubule stabilizing agent that arrests cells in mitosis leading to cell death. Taxol is widely used to treat breast cancer, but resistance occurs in 25-69% of patients and it is vital to understand how Taxol resistance develops ...

High expression of RIPK2 is associated with Taxol resistance in serous ovarian cancer
Background Taxol resistance in serous ovarian cancer is responsible for its poor prognosis, yet the underlying mechanism is still poorly understood. Thus, we probed the mechanism of Taxol resistance in serous ovarian cancer with multiple bioinformatic ...

Abstract Aim Fluoropyrimidines, including 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU) and capecitabine, are cornerstone antineoplastic agents for cancer. Case reports suggest that these drugs may be associated with an under‐recognised risk of ischaemic stroke or transient ischaemic attack (TIA).

Repeated paclitaxel exposure causes long‐lasting nociceptor hyperexcitability and axonal retraction in adult sensory neurons. Using a long‐term primary nociceptor culture, we show that hyperexcitability is mediated by sequential upregulation of NaV1.8, TRPV1, TRPA1, and TRPM8 channels.
