Single-molecule microscopy study of nano-systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this work, techniques were developed and used to study the properties of molecules on a single-molecule level. Single-molecule techniques have the major advantage, that in contrast to ensemble measurements, they allow a detailed insight on the ...

Effects of IGFBP4 deficiency on human preadipocyte proliferation and differentiation through the IGF1R/AKT pathway

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
IGFBP4 knockdown (KD) impairs preadipocyte proliferation and is associated with IGF1R protein downregulation and attenuated AKT phosphorylation. The mechanisms by which IGFBP4 KD influences the IGF1R/AKT signaling pathway involve newly synthesized proteins and lysosomal degradation pathways. Created in BioRender.

Architecture of TAF11/TAF13/TBP complex suggests novel regulation properties of general transcription factor TFIID

open access: yeseLife, 2017
General transcription factor TFIID is a key component of RNA polymerase II transcription initiation. Human TFIID is a megadalton-sized complex comprising TATA-binding protein (TBP) and 13 TBP-associated factors (TAFs).

Diagnostic value of pleural fluid lactate dehydrogenase/adenosine deaminase ratio in differentiating parapneumonic effusion from tuberculous pleurisy

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Chest Disease and Tuberculosis, 2021
Objective The purpose of this study was to determine the diagnostic value of pleural fluid lactate dehydrogenase (LDH)/pleural fluid adenosine deaminase (ADA) ratio in differentiating pleural effusions owing to tuberculous pleurisy (TBP) and ...

Designed Lewis Acid–Base Passivation for High Performance Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Silicon's high cost and long energy payback time remain major barriers to the global expansion of solar power. In contrast, metal–halide perovskites offer abundant, solution‐processable absorbers, and have achieved efficiencies of 25%–30%, positioning them as strong competitors to silicon.

π‐Radical Cascades to Peri‐Fused Triangulene Dimers

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
We demonstrate the potential of open‐shell molecular graphene fragments as synthons for constructing graphene nanostructures via π‐radical cascades. By identifying monoradical intermediates as key selectivity‐determining species and tuning steric effects in a triangulene precursor, we show that reactivity in a formally diradical system can be ...

Atomic structure of the SAGA complex and it’s interaction with TBP

open access: yesComptes Rendus Biologies, 2021
The transcription of eukaryotic protein genes is controlled by a plethora of proteins which act together in multi-component complexes to facilitate the DNA dependent RNA polymerase II (Pol II) enzyme to bind to the transcription start site and to ...

Deactivation of TBP contributes to SCA17 pathogenesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Spinocerebellar ataxia type 17 (SCA17) is an autosomal dominant cerebellar ataxia caused by the expansion of polyglutamine (polyQ) within the TATA box-binding protein (TBP).
