Burkholderia vietnamiensis Bacteraemia After Lung Transplantation in a Patient With Diffuse Panbronchiolitis. [PDF]
Persistent Burkholderia cepacia complex bacteraemia occurred after lung transplantation for diffuse panbronchiolitis. Despite apparent in vitro susceptibility to meropenem, bacteraemia persisted and antimicrobial therapy was modified. This case highlights the importance of integrating clinical evolution with antimicrobial susceptibility testing when ...

Teicoplanin, a new glycopeptide antibiotic similar to vancomycin, has proved effective in the treatment of various gram-positive infections in both the normal and the immunocompromised host. In vitro activity against most gram-positive organisms is equal to or greater than that of vancomycin.
