European Society of Neuroendocrine Tumors (ENETS) 2025 guidance paper for lung and thymic carcinoids

open access: yesJournal of Neuroendocrinology, Volume 38, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract This ENETS guidance paper, developed by a multidisciplinary working group, provides up‐to‐date and practical advice on the diagnosis and management of lung and thymic carcinoids, based on recent developments and study results. These recommendations aim to provide practical recommendations for the diagnosis, treatment and follow‐up of these ...

MR‐Guided Laser Interstitial Thermal Therapy for Recurrent Glioblastoma: A Case Report With Novel Insights Into Histopathological Changes and Immunological Responses

open access: yesNeuropathology and Applied Neurobiology, Volume 52, Issue 2, April 2026.
MR‐guided laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT) offers a minimally invasive option for recurrent glioblastoma, but human post‐treatment tissue data are scarce. In this case report, post‐LITT tissue exhibited distinct zonal changes, including central necrosis within the ablation zone and reduced tumour proliferation with increased CD8+ T‐cell ...

Genomic Alteration Patterns Across Histological Grades in BRAF p.V600E‐Mutant Gliomas and Glioneuronal Tumors: An Analysis of 15 Cases

open access: yesPathology International, Volume 76, Issue 4, April 2026.
BRAF p.V600E‐mutant gliomas show substantial genomic heterogeneity across histological grades. Low‐grade tumors are generally genomically quiet, whereas high‐grade tumors tend to exhibit increased copy‐number gains. These findings highlight the limitations of genomic alteration burden as a surrogate indicator of malignant potential.

Lactate Metabolism‐Immune Regulation‐Related Gene Signature in Lower‐Grade Gliomas: Prognostic Model Development and Immune Characterization

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 6, 31 March 2026.
Lactate metabolism‐immune regulation‐related gene signature (PLA2G2A, TNFRSF12A, VAV3) predicts glioma prognosis. PLA2G2A promotes ECM remodeling, tumor‐associated inflammation, and EMT, leading to enhanced proliferation, invasion, and unfavorable outcomes.
