Temperature stabilized optical waveguide modulator

Optical and Quantum Electronics, 1978
A low drive-voltage optical modulator using a Ti-diffused UNbO3 optical waveguide has been fabricated. Stabilization against ambient temperature change was realized by using a miniature halfwave plate. The halfwave voltage, 3 dB bandwidth, optical insertion loss and extinction ratio were 3·8 V (at 1·06μm wavelength), 850 MHz, 10 dB and 13 dB ...

Temperature anisotropy stabilization of ion temperature gradient instabilities

Physics Letters A, 1988
Abstract The effect of ion temperature anisotropies on the ion temperature gradient instability (“ion mixing mode”) is investigated in a shearless slab geometry. The roles played by the parallel and perpendicular (to the equilibrium magnetic field) components of the temperature are described and modified stability diagrams are presented.

Temperature compensation of transistor stabilizers

Measurement Techniques, 1961
The above computation of the temperature compensation for transistor stabilizers makes it possible to construct devices with highly-stable output voltages. It is best to use for temperature compensation germanium or silicon diodes in a forward connection, using the above-described method for accurate adjustment of temperature compensation.

Low-temperature stability of quasicrystals

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1996
Abstract We discuss classical lattice-gas models without periodic ground states. To prove the thermodynamic stability of such systems we have to construct nonperiodic equilibrium states which are small perturbations of ground states. We review partial results in this direction and discuss possibilities of constructing a model with nonperiodic ...

Temperature stabilization of transistor amplifiers

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, Part I: Communication and Electronics, 1956
A novel method of analysis of the thermal behavior of transistor amplifiers is developed by introducing the temperature incremental equations of the transistor and of its associated d-c network. Design formulas for prescribed thermal stability, and in particular for the case of thermistor compensation, are derived.
