A multifunctional terahertz (THz) platform is demonstrated, in a model material Fe4Nb2O9, exhibiting a large intrinsic THz phase shift alongside distinct THz magnon excitations in its antiferromagnetic phase. This coexistence of phase modulation and spin dynamics offers a promising pathway toward integrated THz communication and magnonic computation ...

Broadband Single-Nanowire Photoconductive Terahertz Detectors
Broadband photoconductive terahertz detectors based on undoped InP single nanowires were demonstrated. By further design and growth of an axial n+-i-n+ structure to reduce the contact resistance, highly-sensitive n+-i-n+ InP single-nanowire terahertz ...

Ultrafast Dynamics of Spin Current and Electron Temperature in Spintronic Terahertz Emitters
This work quantifies optical‐pump‐induced THz transmission variations to reveal electron and lattice temperature dynamics and presents time‐resolved THz spectral maps for sub‐picosecond analysis. A 63 ± 8 fs time lag between THz emission and laser excitation is identified, serving as an intrinsic parameter limiting the upper frequency of spintronic THz

Photonic‐Enabled Energy‐Efficient Transparent Neuromorphic Computing Devices: A Review
Transparent photonic neuromorphic computing devices merge optics and brain‐inspired computing to overcome von Neumann bottlenecks with ultrafast, low‐energy processing. By exploiting transparent oxides, 2D materials, phase‐change materials, and hybrid heterostructures, these platforms enable photonic synapses, memory, and logic for see‐through edge ...

Large Temperature‐invariant Anomalous Nernst Effect in Non‐collinear Antiferromagnet Mn3Pt
Based on the noncollinear antiferromagnetic Mn3Pt thin films, the composition‐tunable Mn‐3d orbital states directly govern the Berry curvature. As a result, a giant and temperature‐invariant anomalous Nernst coefficient of 0.71 µV/K is achieved under Mn‐rich conditions.

Pushing semiconductor detectors into the terahertz gap
An electromagnetic wave that penetrates clothing could be very useful in looking for concealed weapons and other objects. Terahertz waves offer such a possibility and a US university project is looking to develop a range of semiconductor detectors with ...

Extreme‐Thickness Meta‐Membrane for Controlling Terahertz Vectorial Beams
We propose ultra‐thin (λ/30) transmissive terahertz metasurfaces combining near‐field resonant and detour phases in coupled‐slit meta‐atoms, enabling continuous phase and polarization control beyond conventional designs. Based on leaky‐mode theory, scalar and vectorial terahertz Bessel beams at 0.39 THz are experimentally demonstrated, with ...
