Durability of Soft Pneumatic Actuators: A Review and Benchmarking Protocol
Lack of durability is a key challenge hindering the broad scale adoption of soft pneumatic actuators (SPAs) in automation industries. This review provides a comprehensive overview of existing research on SPA durability, introduces a standardized durability benchmarking protocol to consolidate the testing of SPAs, and outlines promising directions for ...

Hybrid Simulations of Interstellar Pickup Ions at the Solar Wind Termination Shock Revisited
We revisit previous hybrid simulations of the heating and acceleration of interstellar pickup ions (PUIs) at the solar wind termination shock. In previous simulations, a relatively cold initial distribution of PUIs was assumed; and while the resulting ...

From Lab to Landscape: Environmental Biohybrid Robotics for Ecological Futures
This Perspective explores environmental biohybrid robotics, integrating living tissues, microorganisms, and insects for operation in real‐world ecosystems. It traces the leap from laboratory experiments to forests, wetlands, and urban environments and discusses key challenges, development pathways, and opportunities for ecological monitoring and ...

An Estimation of the Shape and Location of the Heliospheric Termination Shock
We calculate semianalytically the distance to the heliospheric termination shock, and we use Ulysses measurements as data input for a realistic application. Therefore, we can find directly the consequences of the solar wind latitudinal variation on the shape of the termination shock. The model that we use is an approximate gasdynamic model. Our purpose

Our study reveals the protective role of GPR124 in maintaining BBB integrity and promoting neurological recovery following TBI. It makes a significant contribution by uncovering a novel molecular interaction between GPR124 and FGFBP1 and linking this to activation of the Wnt/β‐catenin signaling pathway in vascular repair mechanisms.

Injection Process of Pickup Ion Acceleration at an Oblique Heliospheric Termination Shock
The injection process of pickup ion acceleration at a heliospheric termination shock is investigated. Using two-dimensional fully kinetic particle-in-cell simulation, accelerated pickup ions are self-consistently reproduced by tracking long time ...

Time variations of the Heliospheric Termination Shock Radius
In this work we study the temporal variation of the heliospheric termination shock radius using in-ecliptic combined measurements from different spacecraft at 1 AU near the Earth. The results show that the radius of the heliospheric termination shock varies in time with a period of 11 years.

ABSTRACT Acute pancreatitis (AP) begins with pancreatic local inflammation, leading to the onset of systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), followed by compensatory anti‐inflammatory response syndrome (CARS), which causes immune paralysis and higher mortality rate.

The Fermi bubbles as starburst wind termination shocks [PDF]
Abstract The enhanced star formation in the inner 100 pc of the Galaxy launches a superwind at ∼1600 km s-1 for M82-like parameters. The ram pressure of the wind is very low compared to more powerful starburst winds. I show that halo gas stops the wind a few kpc from the Galactic Centre.
