Bis(tert-butylsulfonyl)ethyne and 1-tert-butylsulfinyl-2-tert-butylsulfonylethyne

The title compounds are electron-poor ethynes. The structure determination of bis(tert-butylsulfonyl)ethyne, C10H18O4S2, (I), is the first of a bis-sulfonyl-substituted ethyne. The molecule is situated on a crystallographic inversion centre. The S-Csp bond [1.737 (2) A] is the longest of this type reported to date.

Tetra-tert-butylpyrazole and tetra-tert-butylthiophene

Abstract Tetra-tert.butylpyrazole (4) and tetra-tert.butylthiophene (11) were prepared starting from the seven membered cycloalkyne 1 and a reductive desulfurization in the last step. Some reactions of 4 and 11 are described. X-ray structural analyses of 11 and the corresponding S,S-dioxide were carried out.

The vapor pressures of methyl tert-butyl ether, ethyl tert-butyl ether, isopropyl tert-butyl ether, tert-amyl methyl ether, and tert-amyl ethyl ether were measured by ebulliometry or the static method in the pressure ranges 14--102 and 3--835 kPa (methyl tert-butyl ether), respectively.

B4tBu4 wurde durch Reduktion von tBuBF2 mit Na/K‐Legierung synthetisiert. Eine Röntgenstrukturanalyse ergab eine Tetrahedranstruktur (siehe Bild), deren B4C4‐Gerüst nur geringfügig vom idealen Tetraeder abweicht. Trotz gespannter B‐B‐Bindungen und relativ geringer sterischer Abschirmung des B4‐Gerüsts ‐ dieses ist größer als das C4‐Gerüst in C4tBu4 ...

AbstractDie SH‐Bindung von (tBuO)3SiSH addiert sich glatt an die BN‐Bindung von tBuBNtBu unter Bildung der Titelverbindung. Diese kristallisiert triklin, Raumgruppe P1, mit einer unerwartet kurzen, Z‐konfigurierten BN‐Bindung, d(BN) = 137 pm.
