Partial rejuvenation of the spermatogonial stem cell niche after gender-affirming hormone therapy in trans women

open access: yeseLife
Although the impact of gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT) on spermatogenesis in trans women has already been studied, data on its precise effects on the testicular environment is poor.

The computational analysis of human testis transcriptome reveals closer ties to pluripotency

open access: yesJournal of Human Reproductive Sciences, 2012
Aims: The purpose of this study was to identify the differentially expressed genes (DEG) in human testis and also evaluate the relationship between human testis, human Embryonic Stem Cells (hESC), mouse testis and mouse ESCs (mESC).

Diamonds in HD 97048 [PDF]

open access: yesAstrophys.J. 614 (2004) L129-L132, 2004
We present adaptive optics high angular resolution ($\sim0\farcs$1) spectroscopic observations in the 3 $\mu$m region of the Herbig Ae/Be star HD 97048. For the first time, we spatially resolve the emission in the diamond features at 3.43 and 3.53 $\mu$m and in the adjacent continuum.

Differential expression of estrogen receptor α and progesterone receptor in the normal and cryptorchid testis of a dog

open access: yesLaboratory Animal Research, 2016
Descending of the testes is an important process for spermatogenesis and cryptorchidism is one of the most relevant genital defects in dogs. In a previous study, we observed abnormal morphology and proliferation of Sertoli cells in a cryptorchid testis ...

Management of high inguinal undescended testis: a review of literature

open access: yesAnnals of Pediatric Surgery, 2021
Background Undescended testis is one of the most common paediatric surgical diagnoses. A lot of research has been done to date, to standardise the surgical management of intra-abdominal and extra-abdominal undescended testis.

NICS-TNG low-resolution 0.85-2.45um spectra of L-Dwarfs: a near-infrared spectral classification scheme for faint dwarfs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We present complete near-infrared (0.85-2.45 um), low-resolution (~100) spectra of a sample of 26 disk L-dwarfs with reliable optical spectral type classification. The observations have been obtained with NICS at the TNG using a prism-based optical element (the Amici device) that provides a complete spectrum of the source on the detector.

The Blood-Testis Barrier and Its Implications for Male Contraception

open access: yesPharmacological Reviews, 2012
The blood-testis barrier (BTB) is one of the tightest blood-tissue barriers in the mammalian body. It divides the seminiferous epithelium into the basal and the apical (adluminal) compartments.

3D Printed Low‐Tortuosity and Ultra‐Thick Hierarchical Porous Electrodes for High‐Performance Wearable Quasi‐Solid‐State Zn‐VOH Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents an advanced 3D‐printed aqueous Zn‐VOH batteries system, and the important role of 3D‐printed low‐tortuosity structures in improving thick electrodes’ electrochemical kinetics (mass transfer and charge transfer) is highlighted. The promising potential of 3D‐printed quasi‐solid‐state Zn‐VOH battery devices in many practical wearable ...

Gene Expression of E2F1 in Chicken and Mouse Testes at Various Developmental Stages

open access: yesThe Journal of Poultry Science, 2010
E2F1 (Adenoviral E2 promoter binding transcription factor 1), mediating cell proliferation and p53-dependent/independent apoptosis, has been shown to be involved in spermatogenesis in mouse testis.
