Tetramethylammonium hydroxide poisoning

Clinical Toxicology, 2010
Tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAH) is widely used as a developer or etchant in semiconductor and photoelectric industries. In addition to alkalinity-related chemical burn, dermal exposure to TMAH may also result in respiratory failure and/or sudden death.

Characterization of the tetramethylammonium hydroxide thermochemolysis products of carbohydrates

Journal of Analytical and Applied Pyrolysis, 1999
Abstract The identification of the thermochemolysis products (in the presence of tetramethylammonium hydroxide, TMAH) of carbohydrates is presented. Analysis was carried out using on-line flash pyrolysis-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (Py-GC/MS) and off-line flash (vacuum) pyrolysis followed by GC/MS.

The effect of tetramethylammonium hydroxide in comparison with the effect of sodium hydroxide on the slow pyrolysis of cellulose

Journal of Analytical and Applied Pyrolysis, 2003
Abstract The effect of two bases, tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAH) used in thermally assisted hydrolysis and methylation (THM) analysis of biopolymers and NaOH generally used in cellulose and textile industry, was compared in the pyrolysis of cotton cellulose at very low concentrations using differential thermal analysis, data obtained from ...

Experimental Characterization of the Si/Al/Tetramethylammonium Hydroxide System

Journal of The Electrochemical Society, 2001
Electrochemical measurements were used to determine the open-circuit potentials (OCP) of Si/tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAH) and Al/Si/TMAH systems. The OCP of Al/Si/TMAH and Si/TMAH were found to be in general agreement with the results obtained by other researchers using linear sweep voltammetry.
