Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Theory and Practice of the Public Sector Savings: The Case of Czech Regions

open access: yesTransylvanian Review of Administrative Sciences, 2014
In recent years, the necessity to allocate resources in economically rational ways has been amplified in the context of budget austerity measures and the overall tendency for balanced public budgets. Under these long-term circumstances, political leaders

On the Hamilton's isoperimetric ratio in complete Riemannian manifolds of finite volume

open access: yes, 2020
We contribute to an original problem studied by Hamilton and others, in order to understand the behaviour of maximal solutions of the Ricci flow both in compact and non-compact complete orientable Riemannian manifolds of finite volume.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Introduction: Regions of Memory in Theory

open access: yes, 2022
AbstractSetting the agenda for the chapters to come, the volume editors lay out in this chapter the importance of moving beyond the nation state in memory studies, arguing that a narrower and more specific framework than the global/universal needs to be developed.

Statistical problem of ideal gas in general 2-dimensional regions

open access: yes, 2014
In this paper, based on the conformal mapping method and the perturbation theory, we develop a method to solve the statistical problem within general 2-dimensional regions. We consider some examples and the numerical results and fitting results are given.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...
