Special Theory of Relativity and the Lorentz Force

open access: yes, 2020
For the Special Theory of Relativity (STR) to be valid the form of the Lorentz force expression (say, its Y-component) after Lorentz transformations should ...

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Macroscopic Maxwell's equations of the general theory of relativity

open access: yes, 2020
Covariant Maxwell's equations of the general theory of relativity for a system of electromagnetically and gravitationally interacting particles of the form F ik ;k = -4π/c J i, F (ij;k) = 0 are averaged over ensembles of particles with consideration of ...

Quantum Gravity as a Broken Symmetry Phase of a BF Theory

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2006
We explain how General Relativity with a cosmological constant arises as a broken symmetry phase of a BF theory. In particular we show how to treat de Sitter and anti-de Sitter cases simultaneously.

L’essenza fenomenologica della relatività. Questioni di confine tra Husserl e Einstein [PDF]

open access: yesS&F_scienzaefilosofia.it, 2016
The phenomenological Essence of Relativity. Matters concerning the Border between Husserl and Einstein According to Hermann Weyl, Einstein’s Relativity Theory is a method that combines “analysis of essence” and “mathematical construction”.

The Extended Theory of Relativity

open access: yes
This paper combines Albert Einstein's General Theory of Relativity(in which he proposes space-time) and the second law of Thermodynamics(entropy) to propose a new cause for cosmic expansion and to provide justification for a possible beginning and end of the universe.

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created
