IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

Monoacylglycerol acyltransferase maintains ionotropic receptor expression for cool temperature sensing and avoidance in Drosophila

open access: yesCommunications Biology
Sensory inputs of temperature dynamics in the environment are essential for appropriate physiological outputs. The responsiveness of sensory neurons is maintained by functional thermosensor expression.

Prediction of incompatible reaction of dibenzoyl peroxide by isothermal calorimetry analysis and green thermal analysis technology

open access: yes, 2012
[[abstract]]Dibenzoyl peroxide (BPO) has been widely employed in the petrifaction industry. This study determined the unsafe characteristics of organic peroxide mixed with incompatible materials so as to help prevent runaway reactions, fires or ...

A new baseline for the Newtonian thermal analysis of casting: two-capacitive system baseline Modeling the effects of the thermal capacity of mold

open access: yes, 2015
Computer-aided cooling curve thermal analysis for the casting process is usually applied to predict the latent heat of transformation and the solid fraction.

Pile heat exchangers: thermal behaviour and interactions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Thermal piles – that is structural foundation piles also used as heat exchangers as part of a ground energy system – are increasingly being adopted for their contribution to more sustainable energy strategies for new buildings.

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...
