Control and monitoring systems update for thermal printers

open access: yes2017 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT), 2017
A new control and interface system is to be introduced for a series of thermal printers which emerged as the result of obsolescence of some of the components within a well in demand and high precision operating set of printers congruent to the market they were designed for. The obsolescence of some of the main components led to the need for creation of

Transient Thermal Systems: Dynamics and Control [PDF]

open access: yesMechanical Engineering, 2014
This is a study focused on the criticality of thermal systems in almost every domain of energy conversion. Thermal systems are critically important to nearly all domains of energy conversion, and controls are vital to extracting maximal efficiency from the overall system. Understanding the dynamics of transient thermal systems is the first step towards

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Obstacle detection using thermal imaging sensors for large passenger airplane [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This thesis addresses the issue of ground collision in poor weather conditions. As bad weather is an adverse factor when airplanes are taxiing, an obstacle detection system based on thermal vision is proposed to enhance the awareness of pilots during ...

The TEXTAROSSA Approach to Thermal Control of Future HPC Systems

open access: yes, 2022
Thermal control is a key aspect of large-scale HPC centers, where a large number of computing elements is employed. Temperature is directly related to both reliability, as excessing heating of components leads to a shorter lifespan and increased fault probability, and power efficiency, since a large fragment of power is used in the cooling system ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

Modeling and Control for a Thermal Barrel in Plastic Molding Processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper, a new approach is proposed to model and control the temperature of a thermal barrel of a plastic molding machine. Usually the thermal barrel behavior is expressed in terms of a parameterized linear model to be used in control strategies ...
