Denaturation studies on bovine serum albumin–bile salt system: Bile salt stabilizes bovine serum albumin through hydrophobicity

open access: yesJournal of Pharmaceutical Analysis, 2018
Protein denaturation is under intensive research, since it leads to neurological disorders of severe consequences. Avoiding denaturation and stabilizing the proteins in their native state is of great importance, especially when proteins are used as drug ...

Hydrogen exchange in thermally denatured ribonuclease [PDF]

open access: yesBiochemistry, 1991
Hydrogen exchange has been used to test for the presence of nonrandom structure in thermally denatured ribonuclease A (RNase A). Quenched-flow methods and 2D 1H NMR spectroscopy were used to measure exchange rates for 36 backbone amide protons (NHs) at 65 degrees C and at pH* (uncorrected pH measured in D2O) values ranging from 1.5 to 3.8.

A phenomenological model for predicting melting temperatures of DNA sequences. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2010
We report here a novel method for predicting melting temperatures of DNA sequences based on a molecular-level hypothesis on the phenomena underlying the thermal denaturation of DNA.

Research Progress on the Improvement and Evaluation of the Heat Stability of Whey Protein [PDF]

open access: yesShipin Kexue
Whey protein (WP), an important protein in dairy products, is rich in amino acids and bioactive peptides, and possesses high nutritional value. However, its poor thermal stability leads to issues such as protein denaturation, precipitation, and oxidation

Phosphorylated Trehalose Suppresses the Denaturation of Myofibrillar Proteins in Peeled Shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) during Long-Term Frozen Storage

open access: yesFoods, 2022
The protective effects of phosphorylated trehalose on the quality and characteristics of peeled shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) were determined. Quality changes in treated samples were evaluated by assessing the physicochemical properties of myofibrillar ...

Thermal denaturation of nucleosomal core particles

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 1978
Thermal denaturation of very homogeneous preparations of core particles from chicken erythrocyte chromatin is studied by several techniques. The change in absorbance, which is very closely paralleled by changes in heat capacity, which is very closely paralleled by changes in heat capacity, is a biphasic process with inflexions at 60 degrees C and 74 ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...
