Thermal denaturation of nucleosomal core particles

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 1978
Thermal denaturation of very homogeneous preparations of core particles from chicken erythrocyte chromatin is studied by several techniques. The change in absorbance, which is very closely paralleled by changes in heat capacity, which is very closely paralleled by changes in heat capacity, is a biphasic process with inflexions at 60 degrees C and 74 ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Numerical Simulation of Protein Denaturation of Scallop Adductors during Heating Based on Temperature Distribution and Water Status Distribution

open access: yesShipin gongye ke-ji
Protein denaturation is the key point affecting quality attributes of the scallop adductors (SA) during thermal processing such as drying, sous-vide cooking and traditional cooking.

Honey-Induced Protein Stabilization as Studied by Fluorescein Isothiocyanate Fluorescence

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2013
Protein stabilizing potential of honey was studied on a model protein, bovine serum albumin (BSA), using extrinsic fluorescence of fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) as the probe.

Topological and geometrical entanglement in a model of circular DNA undergoing denaturation

open access: yes, 2002
The linking number (topological entanglement) and the writhe (geometrical entanglement) of a model of circular double stranded DNA undergoing a thermal denaturation transition are investigated by Monte Carlo simulations. By allowing the linking number to

THERMAL DENATURATION OF SOLUBLE CALF-SKIN COLLAGEN [PDF]

open access: yesBiochemical Journal, 1965
1. Soluble calf-skin collagen has been denatured thermally between 37 degrees and 60 degrees and the component proteins have been separated on carboxymethylcellulose. 2. Four main fractions have been separated; alpha and beta (in the nomenclature in common usage) and two other fractions.

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Scaling in DNA unzipping models: denaturated loops and end-segments as branches of a block copolymer network

open access: yes, 2002
For a model of DNA denaturation, exponents describing the distributions of denaturated loops and unzipped end-segments are determined by exact enumeration and by Monte Carlo simulations in two and three dimensions.

Thermal denaturation of a helicoidal DNA model

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2003
We study the static and dynamical properties of DNA in the vicinity of its melting transition, i.e. the separation of the two strands upon heating. The investigation is based on a simple mechanical model which includes the helicoidal geometry of the molecule and allows an exact numerical evaluation of its thermodynamical properties.

Zein‐Based Adhesives: Sustainable Extraction and Application in Bioadhesive Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Zein is extracted from corn gluten meal using a simple and scalable process with high yield (~90%). The resulting protein is applied in bioadhesives modified with Ca2+ and Fe3+ ions, exhibiting substrate‐dependent adhesion. The findings demonstrate competitive bonding performance and highlight the role of ionic interactions in tuning adhesion ...
