Tissue‐Stimulator Platform for Electrically Stimulating Pancreatic β‐Cells for Long‐Term Functional Regulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We present a tissue‐stimulator platform for seamless electrode integration with pancreatic tissue, applying uniform electrical stimulation through optimized design with biohybrid 3D printing. Advantageous effects of electrical stimulation on β‐cell function were observed, including enhanced calcium signaling, islet morphology, and maturation.

Corneal surface reconstruction - a short review

open access: yesJournal of Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine, 2009
Cornea is the clear, dome-shaped surface that covers the front of the eye and when damage due to burns or injury and several other diseases, stem cells residing in its rim called "limbus" are stimulated to multiply to support growth of new epithelial ...

Bundling in brushes of directed and semiflexible polymers

open access: yes, 2013
We explore the effect of an attractive interaction between parallel-aligned polymers, which are perpendicularly grafted on a substrate. Such an attractive interaction could be due to, e.g., reversible cross-links.

Anthracene-based thiol-ene networks with thermo-degradable and photo-reversible properties [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Reversible networks based on an alkenefunctionalized dimer of 9-anthracenemethanol were synthesized by photoinitiated radical thiol ene polyaddition, using either a poly(dimethylsiloxane-co-propylmercaptomethylsiloxane) or a novel aliphatic trithiol ...

Thermally Engineered Sodium‐Embedded Alumina with Programmable Synaptic Plasticity for Neuromorphic Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A fully transparent, all‐metal‐oxide neuromorphic transistor using a sodium‐embedded alumina (SEA) electrolyte is demonstrated. By precisely tuning the thermal annealing process, the chemical composition of the SEA layer is controlled, allowing for the deterministic realization of both short‐term and long‐term synaptic plasticity within the same device

Investigation of Halogen Substitution Effects in π‐Conjugated Organic Ligands of Chiral Hybrid Perovskites on Their Chiroptical Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The role of novel thiophene‐based ligands with halogen substitutions in enhancing the chiroptical and optoelectronic properties of 2D chiral HOIPs has been investigated. By tailoring ligand design, enhanced CD and CPL properties are achieved, with improved CPL discrimination in photodetectors.

Magnetothermal‐Triggered Response and Self‐Healing of Recyclable and Reprocessable Nanocomposites for Actuation Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Developing recyclable materials for magnetic robotics that combine rapid response and self‐healing properties is challenging. Hence, this study focuses on the integration of magnetothermal nanoparticles into a dynamic sorbitol‐based vitrimer, a recyclable composite capable of remote actuation and self‐healing by magnetic heating.
