Acute pancreatitis in dogs and cats: medical imaging, biopsy, treatment and prognosis [PDF]
Diagnosing acute pancreatitis in dogs and cats is difficult. Abdominal ultrasonography provides specific information about the size, shape and homogeneity of the pancreas, but is very dependent on the experience of the operator and the quality of the ...

A domino reaction leading to the novel heterocyclic aggregate 2,9‐dihydrobenzo[b]cyclopenta[e][1,4]thiazine has been developed, with its mechanism elucidated by crystallography and ESI‐MS to reveal a 15‐step reaction sequence (the longest reported to date) involving intermolecular C‐C coupling and intramolecular expansion.

Modular synthesis and transition metal-free alkynylation/alkenylation of Castagnoli–Cushmanderived N,O- and N,S-heterocyclic vinyl chlorides [PDF]
A modular and functional group-tolerant protocol for the transition metal-free coupling of novel N,O- and N,S-heterocyclic vinyl chlorides with terminal acetylenes and styrenes has been developed, leading to the epimerization-free synthesis of fully ...

Bis[1]benzothieno[1,4]thiazine‐S‐oxides–Luminescence of the Anti‐Anti‐Regioisomer
Three regioisomeric bis[1]benzothieno[1,4]thiazine‐S‐oxides were synthesized by mild oxidation. Crystal structures reveal S‐extra‐oxide, N‐intra conformers with paired‐like substructures, and intermolecular distances as low as 3.30 Å. UV–vis absorption and emission spectroscopy identifies the anti‐anti‐regioisomer as a strong blue light emitter ...

Evaluation of Substituted 1,2,3-Dithiazoles as Inhibitors of the Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) Nucleocapsid Protein via a Proposed Zinc Ejection Mechanism [PDF]
A diverse library of 5-thieno-, 5-oxo-, and 5-imino-1,2,3-dithiazole derivatives was synthesized and evaluated for efficacy against the feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) as a model for HIV in cells.
