Experimental Evidence for a Metal‐Related Function of a Cyanobactin
Cyanobactins such as patellamides are produced by cyanobacteria profusely and have been studied extensively, but almost exclusively for their cytotoxic properties. Discussed is unprecedented experimental evidence for a metal‐related biological function – likely CO2 transport from the ascidian to the cyanobacterial symbiont.

5‐Substituted 2‐(naphthalen‐2‐yl)‐4H‐chromen‐4‐ones are reported as a novel class of highly potent and selective triplex DNA ligands. These ligands induce triplex formation at submicromolar concentrations and inhibit enzymatic activity via ligand‐mediated triplex formation.

Optimizing headspace temperature and time sampling for identification of volatile compounds in ground roasted Arabica coffee [PDF]
Equilibration time and temperature were the factors studied to choose the best conditions for analyzing volatiles in roasted ground Arabica coffee by a static headspace sampling extraction method. Three temperatures of equilibration were studied: 60, 80,

Thiazole–Carbonyl Interactions: A Case Study Using Phenylalanine Thiazole Cyclic Tripeptides
Natural as well as synthetic thiazole/oxazole peptides have shown widespread pharmacological and metal binding properties. Herein, phenylalanine- and tyrosine derived thiazole-containing cyclic tripeptides were synthesized, and the influence of the solvent on the supramolecular assembly in the solid state was investigated.
