Thiocyanate and Endemic Goitre [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1951
THE amount of thiocyanate has been determined in the blood of volunteers from Sumperk in Moravia and Roudnice in Bohemia, two districts in Czechoslovakia where the incidence of endemic goitre is high. In Sumperk, the investigations were carried out in both spring and autumn, but in Roudnice in the autumn only.

Electrochemical C-H thiocyanation of BODIPYs: Two birds with one stone of KSCN

open access: yesGreen Synthesis and Catalysis
An efficient electrochemical C–H thiocyanation of BODIPYs was developed by using potassium thiocyanide as the source of thiocyanation. The straightforward C–H thiocyanation protocol possesses many advantages: metal-free, oxidant-free conditions ...

Reaction of allene esters with Selectfluor/TMSX (X = I, Br, Cl) and Selectfluor/NH4SCN: Competing oxidative/electrophilic dihalogenation and nucleophilic/conjugate addition

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2015
Reaction of benzyl and ethyl allenoates with TMSX (X = I, Br, Cl) and with NH4SCN were investigated in MeCN, DMF, and in imidazolium ionic liquids [BMIM][NTf2] and [BMIM][PF6] as solvent, in the presence and absence of Selectfluor.

Regioselective Thiocyanation of Aromatic and Heteroaromatic Compounds by Using Boron Sulfonic Acid as a New, Efficient, and Cheap Catalyst in Water

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, 2013
Highly efficient regioselective thiocyanations of indoles and N,N-disubstituted anilines are achieved via a green and simple protocol using boron sulfonic acid (BSA) as a new catalyst and KSCN/H2O2 as a mild and environmentally friendly oxidant in ...

Human α2‐Macroglobulin: Architecture, Mechanisms, and Functional Implications

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 8, 30 April 2026.
Visual representation of human α2‐macroglobulin in its native and induced conformations. General functions associated with the native form (green), the induced form (white), and both conformations (light red) are indicated. ABSTRACT α2‐Macroglobulin (α2M) is a large glycoprotein and one of the most abundant proteins found in the plasma of vertebrates ...

TXCA‐Mediated Synthesis of Halogenated 4‐Aminocoumarins Derivatives Under Mild Conditions and In Silico Evaluation Against Alzheimer's Disease‐Related Protein Targets

open access: yesChemistrySelect, Volume 11, Issue 16, 27 April 2026.
A green and sustainable protocol for the halogenation of 4‐aminocoumarins using trihaloisocyanuric acids was developed, affording compounds with the predicted potential to inhibit protein targets associated with Alzheimer's disease. ABSTRACT A highly efficient and selective protocol for the halogenation of the C─H bond of 4‐aminocoumarin derivatives is
