The Potential of Corncobs in Producing Reduced Graphene Oxide as a Semiconductor Material [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
A simple chemical approach was developed to synthesize reduced graphene oxide (RGO) from corncob waste through the acid-base method with the addition of PEG-2000 at specific concentrations.

Molecular Iodine‐Mediated Functionalization of α‐Carbonyl Sulfoxonium Ylides with Thiocyanates, Xanthates, and Dithiocarbamates

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 28, Issue 33, September 20, 2025.
A method for synthesizing α‐xanthates, α‐thiocyanates, and α‐dithiocarbamates has been developed. By employing molecular iodine and the potassium salts of xanthates, thiocyanate, and dithiocarbamates, a wide range of products is obtained, with yields reaching up to 83%. Sulfoxonium ylides derived from esters, ketones, amides, heterocycles, and steroids

Advances in Enaminomaleimides Chemistry: Synthesis, Chemical Applications, and Perspectives

open access: yesChemistryEurope, Volume 3, Issue 5, September 18, 2025.
Enaminomaleimides are versatile building blocks for the construction of functionalized heterocycles. Their unique nucleophilic character, contrasting with the classical electrophilic nature of maleimides, enables diverse synthetic applications, showing promising potential in both materials science and medicinal chemistry.

Electrochemical Chemo‐ and Regioselective Heterofunctionalization of Tropones via C(sp2)H Derivatization

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 367, Issue 14, July 29, 2025.
Simple and selective. The electrochemical heterofunctionalization of activated tropones is achieved using readily available inorganic salts. A theoretical model, based on cyclic voltammetry and quantum chemistry calculations, predicts both reactivity trends and site selectivity.

Designing Enzymatic Reactivity with an Expanded Palette

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 26, Issue 11, June 3, 2025.
Innovation in biocatalysis is rapidly increasingly the diversity of catalytic reactivity that can be mediated by enzymes, addressing a key bottleneck for their widespread adoption in industrial chemical synthesis. A key approach to this is building enzymes with unnatural catalytic components that provide an expanded palette with new possibilities for ...

Internet based molecular collaborative and publishing tools

open access: yes, 2011
The scientific electronic publishing model has hitherto been an Internet based delivery of electronic articles that are essentially replicas of their paper counterparts. They contain little in the way of added semantics that may better expose the science,
