The photochemistry of thiophene S-oxides [PDF]
Thiophene S-oxides have been prepared and their photoreactivity has been studied. In many cases, the sulfur moiety of the thiophene S-oxides is deoxygenated. Here, the corresponding thiophenes or hydroxylated thiophenes are isolated. In the case of the photoirradiation of tert-butyl substituted thiophene S-oxides, the oxygen of the sulfoxy unit is ...

Abstract The microwave spectra of 2- C 13 -thiophene and of 3- C 13 -thiophene have been recorded and analyzed. In addition, three lines from the S 34 -thiophene were found and identified. Taken together with earlier published data for thiophene, thiophene-2 d , and thiophene-3 d , an unambiguous calculation of the (‘ r 8 ’-) structure of ...

LCGO Calculations are reported for the title compounds. A not-planar structure similar to that recently reported for 1-benzylphosphole is more stable than the planar form for the S-oxide. The electron distributions are interpreted in teRms of localised orbitals, and it is clear that the 3d orbitals play a significant part in the bonding of the S-oxide ...

Kinetics of the desulfurization of thiophene: Reactions of thiophene and butene
Journal of Catalysis, 1977Abstract The kinetics of the desulfurization of thiophene on a representative CoOMoO 3 Al 2 O 3 were studied in the temperature range of 250–313 °C for partial pressures of thiophene from 20 to 160 Torr and for partial pressures of hydrogen from 550–750 Torr.

Bis(ferrocenylsilyl)thiophenes and ferrocenylene(silylene)thiophene oligomers
Polyhedron, 2000Abstract The reaction between 1,1′-dilithioferrocene and 2,5-bis(chlorodimethylsilyl)thiophene ( I ), leads to a series of cyclic oligomers of basic formulation [Fc-SiMe 2 -TH-SiMe 2 ] n ( II ); Fc=(η 5 -C 5 H 4 ) 2 Fe, TH=C 4 H 2 S. The material n =2, IIa , has been completely characterized by spectroscopic and single crystal X-ray diffraction.
