Pioglitazone is an antidiabetic drug acting as a peroxisome proliferator‐activated receptor γ (PPARγ) agonist and later repositioned as a monoamine oxidase B (MAO‐B) inhibitor. Despite promising preclinical premises, it showed a lack of efficacy in clinical trials as a treatment for neurodegenerative diseases.

Fast One‐Step Microwave Synthesis of 2H–1T MoS2 for Efficient Hydrogen Evolution
MoS2 nanoflakes were rapidly synthesized in a microwave hydrothermal reactor for HER catalysis in a single 15‐min step. The one‐pot reaction simultaneously producing two high‐value fine chemicals can now be carried out in both batch and flow modes, with elevated isolated yields of above 90% compared to previous methods. By using a more operational solvent, the selectivity, reaction rate, and separation efficiency have all been significantly improved.

ABSTRACT A series of novel chiral urea and thiourea compounds were designed as multitarget‐directed ligands for Alzheimer's disease and evaluated against hAChE, hBChE, and hMAO‐B, with exploratory assessment of HSD10. These chiral compounds were synthesized and fully characterized, and their enantiopurity was confirmed via HPLC.
