Microglial morphology changes in response to damage by Aβ and aging result in significant reductions in cell surface area. Transcriptomic analyses suggest that fatty acid synthesis and triacylglycerol formation drive redistribution of surface membrane into intracellular lipid droplets.

Anaerobic biodegradation of benzene by sulphate‐reducing strain BzS1 was studied by combining genomics, differential proteomics and targeted metabolite analyses. Strain BzS1 has an exceptionally streamlined metabolism. A highly abundant heterotrimeric flavoprotein may add benzene to either enolpyruvate or glutaconyl‐CoA followed by channelling into the

Matched Diels‐Alder dienophiles at a water interface reveal that on‐water catalysis depends on hydrogen‐bond quality rather than hydrogen‐bond count. Oxygen preserves charge‐transfer coupling and lowers the free‐energy barrier, whereas sulfur disrupts this coupling and promotes an asynchronous pathway.

New conjugates of amiridine and salicylimine/amine with an N‐acylalkylene spacer were synthesized. N‐acylation of amiridine conjugates leads to a decrease in their protonation, resulting in a substantial reduction in anticholinesterase activity and relative inability to block Aβ42 self‐aggregation compared to previously studied analogs with an N ...
