Evaluating the Antiviral Efficacy of Encapsulated PKC Inhibitor BIM‐I against influenza A Virus Infection

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores nanoparticle delivery of the protein kinase C inhibitor bisindolylmaleimide‐I (BIM‐I) to combat influenza A virus infections. Encapsulation in biodegradable PLGA nanoparticles improved safety while maintaining the compound's strong antiviral activity.

Activation of type II calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase by Ca^(2+)/calmodulin is inhibited by autophosphorylation of threonine within the calmodulin-binding domain [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
It is now well established that autophosphorylation of a threonine residue located next to each calmodulin-binding domain in the subunits of type II Ca^(2+)/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase causes the kinase to remain active, although at a reduced ...

Structural Characterization and AI‐Enhanced Modeling of a Broadly Neutralizing Camelid Antibody Against SARS‐CoV‐2 Variants

open access: yesAdvanced Therapeutics, EarlyView.
This study characterizes a camelid antibody (B10) with potent neutralizing activity against SARS‐CoV‐2 Wildtype and Omicron variants. Through binding assays, epitope mapping, pseudovirus neutralization, and AI‐driven modeling, the antibody is shown to target conserved RBD regions in a closed Spike conformation.

Effects of different dietary threonine levels on growth and slaughter performance in finishing pigs

open access: yesCzech Journal of Animal Science, 2007
The objective of this study was to determine the threonine (Thr) requirement of a modern crossbred growing pig from Austria in the finisher stage (67 to 113 kg body weight).

Faba beans in diets for growing-finishing pigs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Two experiments were carried out to study the effects of using the new faba bean (Vicia faba L.) cultivar Kontu as a domestic protein source for growing-finishing pigs.In Experiment 1,120 pigs were used with a body weight (BW)of 25–110 kg to study the ...

Phase‐Separation of YAP Mediates AJUBA Super Enhancer Activation to Promote Aberrant Mitosis in Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
YAP undergoes phase separation to activate the AJUBA super‐enhancer, driving aberrant mitosis through spindle checkpoint dysregulation in breast cancer. This study uncovers a mechanistic link between YAP condensates, super‐enhancer activation, and aneuploidy formation.

Effect of threonine level in a high-protein diet on the growth performance and carcass characteristics of 50- to 91-day-old slow-growing indigenous male Boschveld chickens

open access: yesFrontiers in Animal Science
Broiler chickens are economically, nutritionally, and culturally very important. An experiment was conducted to determine the effect of dietary threonine level on the growth performance of slow-growing 50- to 91-day-old male Boschveld chickens.

Multiomics Analyses Reveal an Essential Role of Tryptophan in Treatment of csDMARDs in Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Rheumatoid arthritis is a disease characterized by joint inflammation. Approximately 50% of patients show insufficient response to traditional synthetic disease‐modifying antirheumatic drugs. This study aims to elucidate differential molecular profiles of the mechanisms underlying drug responses through multi‐omics strategy.

Supplementing low protein diets with methionine or threonine during mixed Eimeria challenge

open access: yesPoultry Science
: We investigated the effects of supplementing low protein diets with methionine (Met) or threonine (Thr) during a mixed Eimeria (consisting of E. acervulina, E. maxima and E. tenella) challenge in broilers. All birds were fed the same starter diet (d1–9)
