Generalized Linear Threshold Scheme [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
A generalized linear threshold scheme is introduced. The new scheme generalizes the existing linear threshold schemes. The basic principles involved in the construction of linear threshold schemes are laid out and the relationships between the existing schemes are completely established.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

A Novel Secret Sharing Method Based on Binary Sequence

open access: yesDianxin kexue, 2015
A novel secret sharing method was proposed based on binary sequence, which was quite different from the traditional secret sharing method. This secret sharing method was based on binary secret sequence using bit operations. The secret here included but not ...

Distributed Random Beacon for Blockchain Based on Share Recovery Threshold Signature

open access: yesSensors, 2022
Random beacons play a crucial role in blockchains. Most random beacons in a blockchain are performed in a distributed approach to secure the generation of random numbers.

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Adaptive deactivation and zero-forcing scheme for low-complexity LDPC decoders

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, 2017
A modified message propagation algorithm is proposed for a low-complexity decoder of low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes, which controls the information propagated from variable and check nodes. The proposed threshold-based node deactivation for ...

Multiparty Quantum Secret Sharing

open access: yes, 2004
Based on a quantum secure direct communication (QSDC) protocol [Phys. Rev. A69(04)052319], we propose a $(n,n)$-threshold scheme of multiparty quantum secret sharing of classical messages (QSSCM) using only single photons.

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Adaptive multiresolution schemes with local time stepping for two-dimensional degenerate reaction-diffusion systems

open access: yes, 2008
We present a fully adaptive multiresolution scheme for spatially two-dimensional, possibly degenerate reaction-diffusion systems, focusing on combustion models and models of pattern formation and chemotaxis in mathematical biology.
