Magnesium Attenuates Renal Senescence and Fibrosis With Reduced DNA Damage Response and H3K4me3 Enrichment at the p16INK4a Promoter

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 16, 31 August 2026.
Magnesium (Mg2+) attenuates renal injury in ischemia–reperfusion and radiation‐induced kidney injury models in association with reduced DNA damage response markers, cellular senescence, inflammation, and fibrosis. Mg2+ treatment is associated with reduced H3K4me3 enrichment at the p16INK4a promoter, attenuation of senescence‐associated pathways, and ...

MiR‐513a promotes human erythroid differentiation by modulating c‐Jun

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, Volume 16, Issue 8, Page 1509-1526, August 2026.
During early human erythropoiesis, miR‐513a promoted erythroid differentiation in primary human CD34+ hematopoietic stem‐progenitor cells and human TF‐1 erythroleukemic cells by indirectly decreasing c‐Jun and phospho‐c‐Jun expression, which are associated with increased GATA1 expression.

Exploring the Burden on Patients Living With and Receiving Treatment for Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP): Patient and Physician Perceptions From the ITP World Impact Survey (I‐WISh) 2.0

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Hematology, Volume 101, Issue 8, Page 1954-1968, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Limited data exist on how patients and physicians perceive immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) symptoms and treatment‐related burden. I‐WISh (ITP World Impact Survey) 2.0 surveyed 1018 patients and 431 physicians in 15 countries to characterize the impact of ITP and its treatments on patients.

Nonviral Gold Nanoparticle‐Mediated Delivery of CRISPR‐Cas9 Ribonucleoprotein and Long DNA Transgenes Into Primary Blood Cells

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, Volume 6, Issue 8, August 2026.
CRISPR/Cas9 has revolutionized the field of gene therapy, but delivery remains an outstanding issue. We propose a nonviral gold‐nanoparticle platform for co‐delivery of CRISPR/Cas9 ribonucleoprotein and long 2.1 kilobase dsDNA transgene constructs. This CRISPR‐AuNP is inexpensive to produce and mediate gene editing and DNA delivery in T cells and CD34+

Application of Population‐Based Meta‐Heuristic Algorithms for Robust Initialization in Mechanistic Pharmacometric Modeling

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics &Systems Pharmacology, Volume 15, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Mechanistic PK/PD models represent complex biological systems in which model parameters are in nonlinear, multidimensional parameter spaces and often require robust optimization informed by experimental data, making parameter estimation a critical yet challenging aspect of pharmacometric analysis.

Clinical outcome, imaging and histopathological findings of liver cirrhosis in dogs

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 3, August 2026.
Abstract Cirrhosis is a severe and irreversible condition resulting from chronic liver injury, characterised by extensive fibrosis and regenerative nodules. This report describes three dogs with cirrhosis. The main clinical findings included ascites, reduced body condition score and inappetence. Anaemia, thrombocytopenia, hypoalbuminaemia, and elevated

The association of thrombocytopenia with haematological malignancy

open access: yesBritish Journal of Haematology, Volume 209, Issue 2, Page 441-443, August 2026.
This review article discusses the interplay of immune dysregulation, clonality, and immunosuppressive therapies in immune thrombocytopenia and how this links to the risk of misattribution versus the development of haematological malignancy. Unresolved questions and directions for future research are also discussed. Isolated thrombocytopenia is commonly
