DNA Base Pair Mismatches Induce Structural Changes and Alter the Free Energy Landscape of Base Flip [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
Double-stranded DNA may contain mismatched base pairs beyond the Watson-Crick pairs guanine-cytosine and adenine-thymine. Such mismatches bear adverse consequences for human health. We utilize molecular dynamics and metadynamics computer simulations to study the equilibrium structure and dynamics for both matched and mismatched base pairs.

Characterization of cyantraniliprole resistance in Spodoptera frugiperda: Selection, inheritance pattern, and cross‐resistance to other diamide insecticides

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
A cyantraniliprole‐resistant strain of Spodoptera frugiperda with I4790K mutation exhibited a resistance ratio of 3414‐fold and high cross‐resistance to other diamide insecticides. Abstract BACKGROUND Cyantraniliprole, a diamide insecticide, is widely used in Brazil to control sucking and defoliating pests, including the fall armyworm (Spodoptera ...

Process of Infection with Bacteriophage φX174 XXXIII. Templates for the Synthesis of Single-Stranded Deoxyribonucleic Acid [PDF]

open access: yes, 1970
The origin of the templates for the synthesis of {varphi}X174 progeny single-stranded deoxyribonucleic acid was studied by means of the mutagenic activity associated with the decay of incorporated 3H-labeled 5-cytosine.

Alquilação seletiva na posição N1 de timina e uracil em sistema de Mitsunobu/Selective alkylation at the N1 position of thymine and uracil in the Mitsunobu system

open access: yesOrbital: The Electronic Journal of Chemistry, 2010
Selectivity of alkylation at the N1 position in pyrimidines (thymine and uracil) was achieved by the application of N3-benzoyl thymine and N3-benzoyl uracil as substrates, where the N3 atom was temporarily protected, exposing the N1 atom as the ...
