p-Adic Modelling of the Genome and the Genetic Code
The present paper is devoted to foundations of p-adic modelling in genomics. Considering nucleotides, codons, DNA and RNA sequences, amino acids, and proteins as information systems, we have formulated the corresponding p-adic formalisms for their ...

Plasmodium falciparum has rare correlation properties [PDF]
A plot of the correlation function of a given DNA sequence has certain characteristic features common to almost all organisms. One common feature is that the correlation values at distances that are multiples of three is higher than correlation values at

Locked Nucleic Acid Thymine Monomer Probe Identifies Four Single-Nucleotide Variants by Melting Temperature [PDF]
High-resolution melting (HRM) analysis of DNA is a closed-tube SNP detection method that has shown many advantages in clinical laboratory, point-of-care diagnostics, and personalized medicine. While recently developed melting probes have significantly improved the discrimination of mismatched (mutant) alleles from matched (wild-type) alleles, no one ...

Evaluation of GFP reporter utility for analysis of transcriptional slippage during gene expression
Background Epimutations arising from transcriptional slippage seem to have more important role in regulating gene expression than earlier though. Since the level and the fidelity of transcription primarily determine the overall efficiency of gene ...

Synthesis of 1,4-Disubstituted Mono and Bis-triazolocarbo-acyclonucleoside Analogues of 9-(4-Hydroxybutyl)guanine by Cu(I)-Catalyzed Click Azide-Alkyne Cycloaddition [PDF]
A series of novel mono-1,2,3-triazole and bis-1,2,3-triazole acyclonucleoside analogues of 9-(4-hydroxybutyl)guanine was prepared via copper(I)-catalyzed 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of N-9 propargylpurine, N-1-propargylpyrimidines/as-triazine with the ...

Comparative analysis of chloroplast genomes from 14 genera of Thymelaeaceae revealed variation in gene content, ranging from 128 to 142 genes, primarily influenced by IR expansion/contraction events and pseudogenization of ndhF, ndhI, and ndhG. Two large inversions were detected within the large single‐copy region, including a synapomorphic inversion ...

Structural analysis of leucine, lysine and tryptophan mitochondrial tRNA of nesting turtles Caretta caretta (Testudines: Chelonioidea) in the Colombian Caribbean [PDF]
The understanding of the functional properties of mitochondrial transfer RNA (mt tRNAs) depend on the knowledge of its structure. tRNA acts as an interface between polynucleotides and polypeptides thus, they are key molecules in protein biosynthesis. The

NF90–NF45 functions as a negative regulator of methyltransferase‐like 3/14 (METTL3/14)‐mediated N6‐methyladenosine (m6A) modification on primary microRNAs (pri‐miRNAs). NF90–NF45 binds to anti‐oncogenic pri‐miRNAs and inhibits their m6A modification, thereby suppressing the biogenesis of anti‐oncogenic miRNAs.

Bipyrimidine Signatures as a Photoprotective Genome Strategy in G + C-rich Halophilic Archaea
Halophilic archaea experience high levels of ultraviolet (UV) light in their environments and demonstrate resistance to UV irradiation. DNA repair systems and carotenoids provide UV protection but do not account for the high resistance observed.
