Comparison of Photovoltaic System Configurations with Different Azimuths and Tilts for Optimal Use of Available Installation Spaces

open access: yesEng
Energy is a critical resource for human progress and societal well-being, but its generation must be environmentally clean and sustainable. Photovoltaic (PV) systems are a key renewable energy solution, but they must be optimized.

Self-orthogonal τ-tilting modules and tilting modules

open access: yesJournal of Pure and Applied Algebra, 2022
Let $Λ$ be an artin algebra and $T$ a $τ$-tilting $Λ$-module. We prove that $T$ is a tilting module if and only if ${\rm Ext}_Λ^{i}(T,\Fac T)=0$ for all $i\geq 1$, where $\Fac T$ is the full subcategory consisting of modules generated by $T$. Consequently, a $τ$-tilting module $T$ of finite projective dimension is a tilting module if and only if ${\rm ...

Refinement of amino‐acid conformation vs. difference density maps in time‐resolved serial femtosecond crystallography data analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The dFoCC pipeline starts with observed DED and resting‐state coordinates, which are then used to generate a library of triggered states. Correlation analysis of the calculated DED features of each candidate vs observed DED permits quantitative evaluation of candidate structural quality.

Early‐life high‐fat diet exposure increases Achilles tendon stiffness and induces transcriptomic alterations

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Tilt-Dependent Analysis of Diffuse X-ray Scattering from Oriented Stacks of Fluid Phase Lipid Bilayers

open access: yes, 2018
Recent simulations have indicated that the traditional Helfrich-Canham model for topographical fluctuations in fluid phase biomembranes should be enriched to include molecular tilt.

The crystal structure of the Borrelia burgdorferi nicotinamidase BBE22 resolves a long‐standing annotation error

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The crystal structure of Borrelia burgdorferi nicotinamidase (PncA/BBE22) reveals the correct full‐length protein initiated from a non‐canonical AUU start codon. The structure validates previous biochemical findings and resolves a long‐standing annotation error, demonstrating that the truncated database sequence is structurally incompatible with the ...

Topography and Tilt at Volcanoes

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2019
For optimal monitoring of the deformation of a volcano, instrumentation should be deployed at the location most sensitive to changes at the suspected deformation source.

MagmaFlow: A desktop platform for artificial intelligence‐driven expression analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
MagmaFlow is a free, no‐code platform for gene expression analysis. It generates interactive volcano plots, links genes to literature, pathways, and diseases, prioritizes candidates using millions of publications, identifies affected biological processes, builds network diagrams, and exports publication‐ready figures and reports for macOS and Windows ...

Diffusion Spectrum Imaging Maps Early Axonal Loss and a Unique Progressive Signal in Neuronal Intranuclear Inclusion Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To delineate specific in vivo white matter pathology in neuronal intranuclear inclusion disease (NIID) using diffusion spectrum imaging (DSI) and define its clinical relevance. Methods DSI was performed on 42 NIID patients and 38 matched controls.
