TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Tilt Measurements in Mechatronic Devices and Mobile Microrobots

open access: yesEngineering Transactions, 2018
A review of the author’s own research on tilt measurements in mechatronic devices by means of micromachined accelerometers is presented. This comprehensive study addresses such issues as adjusting metrological properties of a tilt sensor for the ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Iterated tilted and tilted stably hereditary algebras [PDF]

open access: yesColloquium Mathematicum, 2003
The author gives necessary and sufficient conditions for a stably hereditary algebra to be tilted or iterated tilted in terms of its bound quiver. Recall that an algebra \(A\) is `stably hereditary' provided there exists a hereditary algebra \(H\) such that the stable categories \(\underline{\text{mod}}\,A\) and \(\underline{\text{mod}}\,H\) are ...

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Slope Estimation during Normal Walking Using a Shank-Mounted Inertial Sensor

open access: yesSensors, 2012
In this paper we propose an approach for the estimation of the slope of the walking surface during normal walking using a body-worn sensor composed of a biaxial accelerometer and a uniaxial gyroscope attached to the shank.

Tilted ECG - An unusual tilt test response

open access: yesIndian Pacing and Electrophysiology Journal, 2017
Tilt testing is a commonly used diagnostic tool to evaluate syncope of undetermined etiology. We hereby describe a twelve year old male child who developed presyncope during provocative head up tilt testing along with ST segment elevation in cardiac monitor during presyncope.

C2α‐carbanion‐protonating glutamate discloses tradeoffs between substrate accommodation and reaction rate in actinobacterial 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,
