Lipid imaging with time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (ToF-SIMS) [PDF]

open access: yesBiochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Molecular and Cell Biology of Lipids, 2011
Fundamental advances in secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) now allow for the examination and characterization of lipids directly from biological materials. The successful application of SIMS-based imaging in the investigation of lipids directly from tissue and cells are demonstrated. Common complications and technical pitfalls are discussed.

Imaging and quantitative analysis of insecticide in mosquito net fibers using Time-of-Flight Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (ToF-SIMS). [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2018
Time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (ToF-SIMS) analysis was used to qualitatively and quantitatively assess the distribution of permethrin insecticide on the surfaces and interiors of Olyset long-lasting insecticidal net (LLIN) fibers.

Effect of benzotriazole on the existing pits of copper tube in fire sprinkler system

open access: yesHeliyon, 2023
In this paper, two leaking tubes were investigated among copper tubes injected with 200 and 400 ppm benzotriazole after 8 years of usage. The electrochemical tests were conducted in simulated pit-out and pit-in environments (i.e., regions outside and ...

Spatiotemporal lipid profiling during early embryo development of Xenopus laevis using dynamic ToF-SIMS imaging

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2014
Time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (ToF-SIMS) imaging has been used for the direct analysis of single intact Xenopus laevis embryo surfaces, locating multiple lipids during fertilization and the early embryo development stages with ...

Discrimination of prostate cancer cells and non-malignant cells using secondary ion mass spectrometry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This communication utilises Time-of-Flight Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (ToF-SIMS) combined with multivariate analysis to obtain spectra from the surfaces of three closely related cell lines allowing their discrimination based upon mass spectral ...

Machine-learning-enhanced time-of-flight mass spectrometry analysis

open access: yesPatterns, 2021
Summary: Mass spectrometry is a widespread approach used to work out what the constituents of a material are. Atoms and molecules are removed from the material and collected, and subsequently, a critical step is to infer their correct identities based on

The role of a diffusion barrier in plasma display panel with the high gamma cathode layer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Plasma display panel (PDP) with MgO-SrO double cathode layer and SiO(2) diffusion barrier is proposed to make the SrO layer free of contaminations. Time of flight-secondary ion mass spectrometry (TOF-SIMS) analysis shows the diffusion of impurities, like
