Nail Pigmentation following Timolol Maleate Therapy

Ophthalmologica, 1981
A 56-year-old woman with an open angle glaucoma was treated with timolol maleate topically for 6 months. The patient developed peculiar nail pigmentations of the fingers and toes which could not be related to vasospastic disorders. After withdrawal of the timolol therapy normal-colored nails grew.

In situ forming hydrogels based on modified gellan gum/chitosan for ocular drug delivery of timolol maleate.

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules
In situ forming hydrogels are suitable candidates for increasing drug residence time in ocular drug delivery. In this study, gellan gum (GG) was oxidized to form aldehyde groups and in situ gelling hydrogels were synthesized based on a Schiff-base ...

Topical 0.5% Timolol Maleate Significantly Enhances Skin‐Barrier Restoration After Fractional Carbon Dioxide Laser Treatment for Acne Scars

Lasers in Surgery and Medicine, 2020
Skin barrier is often compromised following ablative fractional carbon dioxide laser (AFCO2) therapy for acne scarring. The resultant downtime, even of a few days' duration, can be of significant concern to patients.

Plasma timolol concentrations of timolol maleate: timolol gel-forming solution (TIMOPTIC-XE®) once daily versus timolol maleate ophthalmic solution twice daily

Documenta Ophthalmologica, 2001
The objective of this study was to compare plasma concentrations of timolol following multiple dosing of the therapeutic regimens of timolol maleate ophthalmic gel-forming solution (Timolol GS; TIMOPTIC-XE) and timolol maleate ophthalmic solution. Timolol maleate ophthalmic gel-forming solution is also referred to as Timolol GS, i.e.

1. Timolol Maleate

Ophthalmology, 1980
Summary Timolol maleate is a new, potent ocular antihypertensive that has an effect additive with other antiglaucoma medications. It does not cause miosis and is relatively free of ocular complications, although a few have been documented. Timolol does exacerbate asthma and should not be used in patients with a history of this disease.
