Temporal evolution of mechanical properties of skeletal tissue regeneration in rabbits. An experimental study [PDF]
Various mathematical models represent the effects of local mechanical environment on the regulation of skeletal regeneration. Their relevance relies on an accurate description of the evolving mechanical properties of the regenerating tissue. The object of this study was to develop an experimental model which made it possible to characterize the ...

In molecular cancer diagnostics, comprehensive genomic profiling (CGP) is going to replace the small NGS panels since it provides all clinically relevant somatic variants as well as genomic biomarkers with clinical value. Here, we compared two CGP assays and demonstrate that the choice for diagnostic implementation will depend on the specific ...

Fixation times on directed graphs [PDF]
Computing the rate of evolution in spatially structured populations is difficult. A key quantity is the fixation time of a single mutant with relative reproduction rate $r$ which invades a population of residents. We say that the fixation time is "fast" if it is at most a polynomial function in terms of the population size $N$.

Epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) and tumor‐infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) are associated with early breast cancer response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC). This study evaluated EMT and TIL shifts, with immunofluorescence and RNA sequencing, at diagnosis and in residual tumors as potential biomarkers associated with treatment response.

Adverse prognosis gene expression patterns in metastatic castration‐resistant prostate cancer
We aggregated a cohort of 1012 mCRPC tissue samples from 769 patients and investigated the association of gene expression‐based pathways with clinical outcomes. Loss of AR signaling, high proliferation, and a glycolytic phenotype were independently prognostic for poor outcomes, and an adverse transcriptional feature score incorporating these pathways ...

Effect of pre-fixation delay and freezing on mink testicular endpoints for environmental research. [PDF]
There is growing interest in using wild animals to monitor the real-life cocktail effect of environmental chemicals on male reproduction. However, practical difficulties, such as long distances to the laboratory, generally prolong the time between ...

Elevated level of cholesterol is positively correlated to prostate cancer development and disease severity. Cholesterol‐lowering drugs, such as statins, are demonstrated to inhibit prostate cancer. VNPP433‐3β interrupts multiple signaling and metabolic pathways, including cholesterol biosynthesis, AR‐mediated transcription of several oncogenes, mRNA 5′

Rats are widely used in the study of embryological development of the central nervous system and its congenital disorders. Therefore, tissue fixation is very important in obtaining a good picture of the central nervous system, especially in newborn rats.

Minimally Invasive Osteosynthesis of Distal Tibia Fractures using Anterolateral Locking Plate [PDF]
Introduction: Plating in distal tibia fractures are associated with higher rate of soft tissue complications. As adequate soft tissue cover is available over anterolateral surface of the tibia, use of anterolateral plate fixation in distal tibia ...
