Tissue Inhibitor of Metalloproteinase 2 and Coronary Artery Lesions in Kawasaki Disease

The Journal of Pediatrics, 2007
To identify cytokine genes uniquely expressed in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMNCs) in the acute phase of Kawasaki disease (KD) with coronary artery lesions (CALs).We screened the mRNA expression levels of PBMNCs from 4 pairs of KD patients with and without CAL using DNA microarray.

The Distribution of tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases-2 (TIMP-2) in the human placenta

Placenta, 1996
Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) secreted by human cytotrophoblasts are crucial for the invasion of the placental bed by these cells. The invasive growth of the trophoblast is similar to that of malignant tumours in many respects, but, unlike the latter, it is strictly controlled.

Matrix metalloproteinases and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-2 in fetal rabbit lung

American Journal of Physiology-Lung Cellular and Molecular Physiology, 2000
Cell-extracellular matrix interaction and extracellular matrix remodeling are known to be important in fetal lung development. We investigated the localization of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) in fetal rabbit lungs. Immunohistochemistry for type IV collagen, MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-9, membrane type (MT) 1 MMP, and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase ...

Cloning and Regulation of Rat Tissue Inhibitor of Metalloproteinases-2 in Osteoblastic Cells

Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1994
Rat tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases-2 (TIMP-2) was cloned from a UMR 106-01 rat osteoblastic osteosarcoma cDNA library. The 969-bp full-length clone demonstrates 98 and 86% sequence identity to human TIMP-2 at the amino acid and nucleic acid levels, respectively.

Serum levels of tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases 2 in patients with systemic sclerosis

Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, 2000
The serum tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases 1 (TIMP-1) level was reported to be a useful indicator of disease activity, especially of lung fibrosis in patients with systemic sclerosis. TIMP-2 is also an important inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), such as interstitial collagenase, gelatinase, and stromelysin, which control the ...

Cloning and sequencing of the cDNA encoding a mouse tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-2

Gene, 1992
A mouse cDNA encoding a tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases (mTIMP-2) was cloned and the 1695-bp sequence was determined. While high homology was observed with the sequences encoding the human (hTIMP-2) and bovine (bTIMP-2) genes, mTIMP-2 contained a long 3'-nontranslated region not observed in the hTIMP-2 or bTIMP-2 genes.

[Expression of tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-2 in nasopharyngeal carcinoma].

Lin chuang er bi yan hou tou jing wai ke za zhi = Journal of clinical otorhinolaryngology head and neck surgery, 2011
To study the expression of tissue inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinase 2 (TIMP2)in the nasopharyngeal carcinoma and to evaluate the relationships between the expression of TIMP2 and biological behavior of NPC.The expression of TIMP2 was observed by immunohistochemical technique in 50 cases with nasopharyngeal carcinoma and 15 cases of Inflammation ...

Serum levels of tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases‐2 and of precursor form of matrix metalloproteinase‐2 in patients with liver disease

Liver, 1997
Abstract: Serum levels of tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases‐2 (TIMP2) and of precursor form of matrix metalloproteinase‐2 (proMMP2) were determined in patients with chronic hepatitis and hepatocellular carcinoma by a one‐step sandwich enzyme immunoassay.

Host expression of matrix metalloproteinase-2 and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-2 in normal colon tissue affects metastatic potential of colorectal cancer

Diseases of the Colon & Rectum, 1999
To clarify the mechanism of cancer cell invasion, we paid close attention to the role of matrix metalloproteinases and tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases in normal tissue that is located in the same organ as the cancer.Samples were obtained from a tumor lesion and normal tissue in the resected large intestine of 59 patients with colorectal cancer,

Tissue inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinase-2 in nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

MedGenMed : Medscape general medicine, 2008
By regulating matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) activity and controlling the breakdown of extracellular matrix components, tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMPs) play an important role in the process of tumor invasion and metastasis. The present study was designed to clarify the role of TIMP-2 in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) patients and to ...
