Tissue Plasminogen Activator in Psoriasis

open access: yesJournal of Investigative Dermatology, 1990
Elevated levels of the serine proteinase plasminogen activator are observed in psoriatic lesions. In contrast to normal epidermis, lesional psoriatic epidermis contains primarily tissue type plasminogen activator (tPA) activity and much lower levels of urokinase type plasminogen activator (uPA) activity.

Differential Regulation of PAI-1 in Hantavirus Cardiopulmonary Syndrome and Hemorrhagic Fever With Renal Syndrome [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We analyzed the levels of circulating tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) and plasminogen activator inhibitor (PAI)-1 in acute hantavirus cardiopulmonary syndrome (HCPS) and hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS).

Tissue plasminogen activator mRNA in murine tissues [PDF]

open access: yesFEBS Letters, 1988
The urokinase‐type and tissue‐type plasminogen activators are the two enzymes found in mammals, which specifically convert the zymogen plasminogen to plasmin. Using cDNA probes, we have assayed for the presence of the two types of plasminogen activator mRNAs in murine tissues.

Intravenous tissue plasminogen activator for ischemic stroke in early pregnancy dosed by actual body weight

open access: yesSAGE Open Medical Case Reports, 2019
Introduction: Few published reports highlight intravenous tissue plasminogen activator use during the first trimester of pregnancy and provide outcomes for mother and fetus.

Successful Treatment of Arterial Thrombus in an Extremely Low-Birth-Weight Preterm Neonate

open access: yesPediatrics and Neonatology, 2013
Arterial thromboembolism in the pediatric population frequently occurs secondary to arterial catheterization. Catheterization-related complications are more common in smaller and sicker infants, due to high prothrombotic activity, low levels of natural ...

Protective role of N-acetylcysteine and Sulodexide on endothelial cells exposed on patients’ serum after SARS-CoV-2 infection

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, 2023
Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 causes hyperinflammation and activation of coagulation cascade and, as a result, aggravates endothelial cell dysfunction. N-acetylcysteine and Sulodexide have been found to mitigate endothelial damage.

Prothrombinase Components Can Accelerate Tissue Plasminogen Activator-catalyzed Plasminogen Activation [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1995
The enzymatic and cofactor subunits of human prothrombinase, factor Xa (FXa) and factor Va (FVa), respectively, were evaluated as modulators of Glu- and Lys-plasminogen (Pg) activation by tissue plasminogen activator (tPA). The data revealed that both FXa and FVa could accelerate tPA activity by as much as 60-fold for Lys-Pg and > 150-fold for Glu-Pg ...

Orolingual angioedema as a complication of systemic thrombolytic therapy with recombinant tissue plasminogen activator

open access: yesВестник медицинского института «Реавиз»: Реабилитация, врач и здоровье, 2023
Orolingual angioedema is a rare, but extremely dangerous complication of systemic thrombolytic therapy with recombinant tissue plasminogen activator, the incidence of which reaches 2.2-5.1 %.

Tissue plasminogen activator and urokinase plasminogen activator in human epileptogenic pathologies [PDF]

open access: yesNeuroscience, 2010
A growing body of evidence demonstrates the involvement of plasminogen activators (PAs) in a number of physiologic and pathologic events in the CNS. Induction of both tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) and urokinase plasminogen activator (uPA) has been observed in different experimental models of epilepsy and tPA has been implicated in the mechanisms ...

Sex Differences in rt-PA Utilization at Hospitals Treating Stroke: The National Inpatient Sample. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Sex and race disparities in recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (rt-PA) use have been reported. We sought to explore sex and race differences in the utilization of rt-PA at primary stroke centers (PSCs) compared to non-PSCs ...
