TLR6: A novel member of an expanding Toll-like receptor family
Gene, 1999Drosophila Toll protein is shown to activate the innate immune system in adult and regulate the dorsoventral patterning in the developing embryo. Recently, five human homologs of Drosophila Toll, designated as Toll-like receptors (TLRs), have been identified and shown to play a role in the innate immune response.

Association of TLR1, TLR2, TLR4, TLR6, and TIRAP polymorphisms with disease susceptibility
Immunologic Research, 2015Toll like receptors (TLRs) play a crucial role in regulation of innate as well as adaptive immunity. TLRs recognize a distinct but limited repertoire of conserved microbial products. Ligand binding to TLRs activates the signaling cascade and results in activation of multiple inflammatory genes. Variation in this immune response is under genetic control.

Investigating the link between miR-34a-5p and TLR6 signaling in sepsis-induced ARDS
3 Biotech, 2023Acute lung injury (ALI)/acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) are lung complications diagnosed by impaired gaseous exchanges leading to mortality. From the diverse etiologies, sepsis is a prominent contributor to ALI/ARDS. In the present study, we retrieved sepsis-induced ARDS mRNA expression profile and identified 883 differentially expressed ...

Porcine TLR2 and TLR6: Identification and Their Involvement inMycoplasma hyopneumoniaeInfection
Journal of Interferon & Cytokine Research, 2003We successfully cloned and sequenced porcine toll-like receptor (TLR2) and TLR6 cDNA from porcine alveolar macrophages stimulated with 10 microg/ml lipopolysaccharide (LPS). The open reading frames (ORFs) of the porcine TLR2 and TLR6 cDNA were shown to be 2358 and 2391 bp in length and to encode 785 and 796 amino acids, respectively.

Single nucleotide polymorphisms and haplotypes of TLR6 gene in Chinese Cantonese population
International Journal of Immunogenetics, 2010SummarySequence polymorphisms in the coding region of Toll‐like receptor 6 gene were investigated in Chinese Cantonese population. By amplifying and sequencing a 2787 bp segment containing the entire coding region of TLR6 gene of 191 individuals in Chinese Cantonese population, a total of seven single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) along with their ...

Deleterious intestinal inflammation in neonatal mice treated with TLR2/TLR6 agonists
Journal of Leukocyte BiologyAbstract By providing innate immune modulatory stimuli, the early-life immune system can be enhanced to increase resistance to infections. Activation of innate cell surface receptors called pattern recognition receptors by Toll-like receptor (TLR) ligands is one promising approach that can help to control infections as described for ...
