Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) has been reported to mediate airway inflammation, however, the underlying mechanism is poorly understood. In the present study, our objective was to reveal whether TLR9 regulates NLRP3 inflammasome and oxidative stress in ...

TLR9-Based Immunotherapy for Allergic Disease
The American Journal of Medicine, 2006A significant amount of data generated over the last few years supports the contention that Toll-like receptor (TLR) 9-based immunotherapy is effective in the prevention and treatment of animal models of allergic disorders. We will review here our experience with two distinct therapeutic strategies: TLR9-based immunomodulation and TLR9-based ...

Activation of rabbit TLR9 by different CpG-ODN optimized for mouse and human TLR9
Comparative Immunology, Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, 2012Synthetic CpG-oligodeoxynucleotides (CpG-ODN) are potent adjuvants that accelerate and boost antigen-specific immune responses. Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) is the cellular receptor for these CpG-ODN. Previous studies have shown species-specific activation of mouse TLR9 (mTLR9) and human TLR9 (hTLR9) by their optimized CpG-ODN.

The immunobiology of the TLR9 subfamily
Trends in Immunology, 2004Abstract Members of the Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) subfamily are evolutionarily related and sense viral and bacterial infections at the endosomal subcellular compartment. Whereas TLR9 directly recognizes as ligands viral and bacterial CpG-DNA motifs, murine TLR7 and human TLR8 sense viral single stranded RNA motifs.

Function and regulation of TLR9
2023Macrophages, dendritic cells and B cells detect bacterial DNA containing unmethylated CpG motifs via Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) and respond by producing proinflammatory mediators such as IL-6, IL-12 and TNF, and upregulating cell surface expression of co-stimulatory molecules.

CpG Oligodeoxyneucleotides as TLR9 Agonists
BioDrugs, 2009Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are part of the innate immune system, and they belong to the pattern recognition receptors (PRR) family. The PRR family is designed to recognize and bind conserved pathogen-associated molecular patterns, which are not generated by the host and are restricted and essential to micro-organisms.

[TLR3c.1377, TLR9-1486, and TLR9 2848 gene polymorphisms and multiple sclerosis].
Zhong nan da xue xue bao. Yi xue ban = Journal of Central South University. Medical sciences, 2011To investigate the relationship between the gene polymorphism of TLR3c.1377,TLR9-1486,and TLR9 2848 and susceptibility to multiple sclerosis(MS)in Han people of south China.A total of 123 unrelated MS patients from South China with a clinical or laboratory definition MS according to 2005 Revisions to the McDonald Criteria were studied.
