Bioengineering bacterial outer membrane vesicles as delivery system for RNA therapeutics targeted to lung epithelial cytosols [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Intact epithelia lining the airways and alveoli in the lung are essential to maintain lung function. Structural or functional damage of epithelial cells leads in severe diseases, including COPD/emphysema, ibrosis or ALI/ARDS.

Updated high-resolution grids of monthly climatic observations - the CRU TS3.10 Dataset [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This paper describes the construction of an updated gridded climate dataset (referred to as CRU TS3.10) from monthly observations at meteorological stations across the world's land areas. Station anomalies (from 1961 to 1990 means) were interpolated into

Single‐ and Dual‐Atom Configurations in Atomically Dispersed Catalysts for Lithium–Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Single‐atom and dual‐atom‐based atomically dispersed catalysts (ADCs) effectively address the shuttle effect and sluggish redox kinetics in Li–S batteries. With nearly 100% atomic utilization and tunable coordination environments, ADCs enhance LiPSs adsorption, lower conversion barriers, and accelerate sulfur redox reactions.

New Cocrystals of Ligustrazine: Enhancing Hygroscopicity and Stability

open access: yesMolecules
Ligustrazine (TMP) is the main active ingredient extracted from Rhizoma Chuanxiong, which is used in the treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, with the drawback of being unstable and readily sublimated.

Safety and efficacy of prophylaxis for Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia involving trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole dose reduction in kidney transplantation

open access: yesBMC Infectious Diseases, 2019
Background Trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (TMP-SMX) is the drug of choice for anti-Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia (PcP) prophylaxis in kidney transplant recipients (KTR).

TMP- SSurface2: A Novel Deep Learning-Based Surface Accessibility Predictor for Transmembrane Protein Sequence

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2021
Transmembrane protein (TMP) is an important type of membrane protein that is involved in various biological membranes related biological processes. As major drug targets, TMPs’ surfaces are highly concerned to form the structural biases of their material-

TMP Process Technology

open access: yesIFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1978
Abstract In the thermomechanical pulping process the chips are preheated under pressure before refining. Refining is carried out at high consistency in disc refiners, normally in two stages of which the first is pressurized. Up to 80 % of the refining energy used is recovered in the form of steam.

Toward Stable Multivalent Metal Batteries: Understanding the Interfacial Chemistry for Magnesium and Calcium Metal Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Interphase chemistry governs the stability of multivalent metal batteries. We summarize state‐of‐the‐art developments in calcium and magnesium metal batteries by focusing on the correlation among electrolytes, interphase layers, and the electrochemical performance of corresponding metal anodes.

Facile Preparation of a Poly[2]Catenane Network Using Self‐Assembled [2]Catenane Unit

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Polycatenanes show a higher degree of conformational freedom and mobility compared to covalent polymers. However, the number of its studies is far lower than that of other dynamic polymers. This may reflect the fact that the preparation of polycatenanes involves the complicated synthesis of covalent catenation.

Specialized turbomolecular pumping stage for RF ion thrusters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This paper proposes the application of a highly specialized Turbomolecular Vacuum Pump (TMP) device as a subsystem for electrostatic RF ion thrusters, using D. Fearn’s Dual-Stage 4-Grid design as a cutting-edge example. The TMP turbine’s rotor impulse is
