Piper nigrum Has an Antitumor Effect Through Regulation of the Phosphatidylinositol 3‐Kinase Signaling Pathway in a Murine Model of Acute Myeloid Leukemia

open access: yesPhytotherapy Research, Volume 40, Issue 10, Page 5988-6004, October 2026.
Overview of the antileukemic effects of Piper nigrum extract in AML. P. nigrum reduced leukemic cell proliferation and glycolytic metabolism through modulation of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway. In vivo, treatment reduced leukemic burden, improved hematological parameters, prolonged survival, and modulated antitumor immune responses.

Serotypic and Genomic Diversity of Vibrio anguillarum in Rainbow Trout Farms in Turkey: Implications for Vibriosis Control and Vaccine Candidate Selection

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, Volume 49, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Outbreaks of vibriosis caused by Vibrio anguillarum are a persistent constraint on rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) aquaculture. However, information on the population structure of field strains in Turkey has been lacking. Here, we report the first systematic serotypic, proteomic, and genomic characterization of 23 V.

Understanding the Immune Response Changes to Clinical Interventions for Epstein–Barr Virus Infection Prior to Lymphoma Development in Children After Organ Transplants (UNEARTH)

open access: yesPediatric Transplantation, Volume 30, Issue 10, October 2026.
The T cell and Natural Killer cell immune responses in primary EBV infection in children or during progression to PTLD are not well characterized. By performing detailed prospective immunological phenotyping through the first year after 278 pediatric organ transplants, we will unearth pathways that may inform EBV oncogenesis progression.

Pathological Evolution of Fibrosis in IgG4‐Related Ophthalmic Disease: A Retrospective Study of 100 Cases

open access: yesPathology International, Volume 76, Issue 10, October 2026.
IgG4‐related ophthalmic disease comprises four histologic patterns representing progressive fibrosis and sclerosis. Fibrosis is associated with CD163‐positive M2 macrophages and increased TGFB1 expression in lymphocyte‐rich areas, suggesting roles for these components in disease progression.

Molecular Engineering Boosts Photon‐Activated Immunotherapy for Prostate Cancer Through Concurrent Pyroptosis and cGAS‐STING Pathway Activation

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 39, 21 September 2026.
The engineered DTSe‐based photosensitizer, DZTSe, emerges as an avant‐garde molecular entity, which can distribute to both the endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondria to concurrently trigger pyroptosis and activate the cGAS‐STING pathway. This dual‐action strategy effectively reprograms the tumor microenvironment, enabling potent eradication of primary ...
