Tn, a carcinoma-associated antigen, reacts with anti-Tn of normal human sera [PDF]

open access: yesCancer, 1985
Tn antigen is the immediate precursor of the carcinoma (CA)-associated T antigen; both are masked in non-CA tissues. Tn antigen was detected by absorption of human anti-Tn antibody in 46 of 50 primary breast CAs and in all 6 metastases originating from Tn-positive primary CAs.

Anti-Tn Monoclonal Antibody Ameliorates Hyperoxia-Induced Kidney Injury by Suppressing Oxidative Stress and Inflammation in Neonatal Mice

open access: yesMediators of Inflammation, 2021
The Tn antigen, an N-acetylgalactosamine structure linked to serine or threonine, has been shown to induce high-specificity, high-affinity anti-Tn antibodies in mice.

Structurally Constrained MUC1-Tn Mimetic Antigen as Template for Molecularly Imprinted Polymers (MIPs): A Promising Tool for Cancer Diagnostics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Abnormal glycoconjugates have distinctly been recognized as potential biomarkers for cancer diagnosis. A great deal of attention has been focused on Tn antigen, an oversimplified mucin-1 O-glycan, over-expressed in different cancers.

Flow Enabled Target Capture Halbach‐based magnetic enrichment increases circulating tumor cell capture from blood in metastatic cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pair‐wise comparison of the CellSearch and FETCH enrichment technologies for circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from metastatic breast, prostate, and small cell lung cancer patients shows an increased capture of CTCs using FETCH enrichment. The clinical implementation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) as a predictive tool for therapy efficacy in the ...

Nuclear volume and expression of T-antigen, sialosyl-Tn-antigen, and Tn-antigen in carcinoma of the human bladder. Relation to tumor recurrence and progression [PDF]

open access: yesCancer, 1992
The T-antigen system and the mean nuclear volume have been proposed as risk variables in bladder tumors. This study includes 34 patients with initially noninvasive (Ta) transitional cell carcinomas who experienced different courses of disease. Tissue specimens of primary tumors were analyzed for the expression of T-antigen, Tn-antigen, and sialosyl-Tn ...

Tn Antigen Mimics by Ring-Opening of Chiral Cyclic Sulfamidates with Carbohydrate C1-S- and C1-O-Nucleophiles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Starting from commercially available (S)-isoserine and effectively accessible (S)-α-methylserine, enantiopure cyclic sulfamidates have been prepared as chiral building blocks for the synthesis of various S- and O-glycosylated amino acid derivatives ...

Air Pollution and the Risk and Progression of Multiple Sclerosis: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Air pollution has been linked to several neurological conditions, including stroke and neurodegenerative diseases. Evidence regarding its association with multiple sclerosis (MS) remains conflicting, limited by small sample sizes. Methods PubMed, Embase, Scopus, and Cochrane controlled register of trials (CENTRAL) were searched on ...

Evaluation of serum CA125-Tn glycoform in peritoneal dissemination and surgical completeness of high-grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesJournal of Ovarian Research, 2022
Background Peritoneal dissemination is the predominant feature of malignant progression in ovarian cancer and is a major cause of poor surgical outcomes and clinical prognoses. Abnormal glycosylation of carbohydrate antigen 125 (CA125) may be involved in

Mucin associated Tn and sialosyl-Tn antigen expression in colorectal polyps. [PDF]

open access: yesGut, 1992
Sialosyl-Tn antigen and its immediate precursor, Tn antigen, are carbohydrate structures associated with the earliest steps of mucin O-linked glycosylation. Both antigens have been shown previously to be highly sensitive and specific markers of colorectal cancer.

Flash Assembloids: A Rapid Biofabrication of a Platform for Modeling Early Glioblastoma Invasion at the Glioblastoma–Brain Organoid Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a bioengineered assembloid (ASM) system combining glioblastoma (GBM) cells in oxidized alginate (OA) microgels with dorsal organoids (DOs). This model simulates brain tumor‐host interactions, revealing enhanced GBM invasion, altered gene expression, and aggressive infiltration patterns, demonstrating ASM as a valuable platform for ...
