Determination of fatty acid, tocopherol and phytosterol contents of the oils of various poppy (Papaver somniferum L.) seeds.

open access: yesGrasas y Aceites, 2009
The fatty acid, tocopherol and sterol contents of the oils of several poppy seeds were investigated. The main fatty acids in poppy seed oils were linoleic (687.6-739.2 g kg-1), oleic (141.3-192.8 g kg-1) and palmitic (76.8-92.8 g kg-1).

Plasma Tocopherol in Sheep and Cattle After Ingesting Free or Acetylated Tocopherol

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 1989
Two trials were carried out to evaluate the bioavailability of dl-alpha-tocopherol and dl-alpha-tocopherol acetate administered to sheep and cattle in a single oral dose. In the first trial, two groups of five sheep were used. They received 100 mg/kg body weight of either dl-alpha-tocopherol or its acetylated form.

Effect of Lemon Oil Nanoemulsion and Heat Treatment on Physical Properties and Lipid Quality Parameters of Fish Meat During Storage

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Lipid Science and Technology, EarlyView.
Nanoemulsions were obtained by ultrasonication using lemon oil, and the effects of lemon oil nanoemulsions at a nanoscale on certain quality characteristics of both raw and thermally treated fish meat were investigated. It is recommended that thermal treatment be applied prior to the incorporation of lemon oil nanoemulsion, ensuring optimal results in ...
