The concept of a tolerance relation, shortly called tolerance, was studied on various algebras since the seventieth of the twentieth century by B. Zelinka and the first author. Since tolerances need not be transitive, their blocks may overlap and hence in general the set of all blocks of a tolerance cannot be converted into a quotient algebra in the ...

Extending single tolerances to set tolerances [PDF]
The theory of single upper and lower tolerances for combinatorial minimization problems was formalized in 2005 for the three types of cost functions sum, product, and maximum, and since then it has ...

Identification of novel small molecule inhibitors of ETS transcription factors
ETS transcription factors play an essential role in tumourigenesis and are indispensable for sprouting angiogenesis, a hallmark of cancer, which fuels tumour expansion and dissemination. Thus, targeting ETS transcription factor function could represent an effective, multifaceted strategy to block tumour growth. The evolutionarily conserved E‐Twenty‐Six

Robust state estimation using mixed integer programming [PDF]
This letter describes a robust state estimator based on the solution of a mixed integer program. A tolerance range is associated with each measurement and an estimate is chosen to maximize the number of estimated measurements that remain within tolerance

The Saccharomyces cerevisiae amino acid transporter Lyp1 has a broad substrate spectrum
In Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Yeast Amino acid Transporter family members mediate the import of amino acids, ranging from substrate specialists to generalists. Here, we show that the specialist transporter, Lyp1, has a broader substrate spectrum than previously described, with affinity constants spanning from micromolar to millimolar.

Abstract Purpose The aim of this work was to evaluate the SunCHECK PerFRACTION, the software for in vivo monitoring using EPID images. Materials/Methods First, the PerFRACTION ability to detect errors was investigated simulating two situations: (1) variation of LINAC output and (2) variation of the phantom thickness.
