Community topic usage in social networks
When studying large social media data sets, it is useful to reduce the dimensionality of both the network (e.g. by finding communities) and user-generated data such as text (e.g. using topic models).

Utterances as tool-mediated specifications of affordances - ecological pragmatics
The established descriptions of information structure assume that the basic cognitive unit is a categorization, and that the basic semantic structure is a predication.

This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Human-competitive automatic topic indexing
Topic indexing is the task of identifying the main topics covered by a document. These are useful for many purposes: as subject headings in libraries, as keywords in academic publications and as tags on the web.

The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified

topicmodels: An R Package for Fitting Topic Models
Topic models allow the probabilistic modeling of term frequency occurrences in documents. The fitted model can be used to estimate the similarity between documents as well as between a set of specified keywords using an additional layer of latent ...

The physical dimensions and shape of bacterial cells define the surface area available to acquire nutrients and the volume available for synthesizing proteins and DNA. Here, we use computational systems biology to decode the importance of cell geometry as a major determinant of prokaryotic phenotype, including growth rate and metabolic efficiency. This

Topic-oriented sentiment analysis on blogs and microblogs
In this thesis, we study topic-oriented sentiment analysis on Blogs and Microblogs. Specifically, we address challenges brought by the presence of topic drift and informal terms and expressions.Topic drift is a common phenomenon on the blogosphere.

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...
