Topological structures, dark matter and gravitational waves in E6

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We discuss the appearance of topological structures from the spontaneous breaking of E 6 to the Standard Model via its maximal subgroup SO(10) × U(1) ψ . They include dumbbells, metastable strings, as well as domain walls bounded by necklaces. We provide

Schwarzschild–Letelier Spacetime Surrounded by a King Dark Matter Halo: Geodesic, Shadow, and Thermodynamics

open access: yesUniverse
We investigate a static and spherically symmetric Schwarzschild–Letelier Black Hole immersed in a King Dark Matter Halo and analyze how the combined effects of the cloud of strings and the dark-matter environment modify the spacetime geometry, particle ...

Topological aspects of string theories

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 1987
In previous work, a new action principle for strings and superstrings in arbitrary dimensions was developed. It led to a classification of strings similar to the classification of point particles as massive, massless and tachyonic. Topological aspects of four-dimensional strings were also investigated.

Electromagnetic vacuum fluctuations around a cosmic string in de Sitter spacetime

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2017
The electromagnetic field correlators are evaluated around a cosmic string in background of $$(D+1)$$ ( D + 1 ) -dimensional dS spacetime assuming that the field is prepared in the Bunch–Davies vacuum state.

Topological structures in string theory

open access: yesPhilosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London. Series A: Mathematical, Physical and Engineering Sciences, 2001
This article provides a very general survey on some aspects of topological quantum field theory. Apparently, it is the written version of a talk that the author has delivered to a wider audience of mathematicians and physicists. The main subject of this survey is a special topic in string theory, namely the recently developed theory of (so-called) \(B\)

Quantum curves as quantum distributions

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
Topological strings on toric Calabi-Yau threefolds can be defined non-perturbatively in terms of a non-interacting Fermi gas of N particles. Using this approach, we propose a definition of quantum mirror curves as quantum distributions on phase space ...

Large N instantons from topological strings

open access: yesSciPost Physics
The $1/N$ expansion of matrix models is asymptotic, and it requires non-perturbative corrections due to large $N$ instantons. Explicit expressions for large $N$ instanton amplitudes are known in the case of Hermitian matrix models with one cut, but not ...

Auto-Derivation of Simplified Contracted Graphs with Quaternary Links and Re-Construction Contracted Graphs for Topology Synthesis of Parallel Manipulators

open access: yesMathematics
To address the complexity of constructing traditional topological contracted graphs due to the significant increase in the types and quantities of basic links during the synthesis of complex parallel mechanisms, this paper introduces a novel concept ...

Towards A Topological G_2 String

open access: yes, 2005
We define new topological theories related to sigma models whose target space is a 7 dimensional manifold of G_2 holonomy. We show how to define the topological twist and identify the BRST operator and the physical states. Correlation functions at genus zero are computed and related to Hitchin's topological action for three-forms.
