We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

A simple protocol for estimating the acute toxicity of unresolved polar compounds from field-weathered oils [PDF]
Crude oil spilled at sea is chemically altered through environmental processes such as dissolution, biodegradation, and photodegradation. Transformation of hydrocarbons to oxygenated species increases water-solubility.

Chemical composition of barks from Quercus faginea trees and characterization of their lipophilic and polar extracts. [PDF]
The bark from Quercus faginea mature trees from two sites was chemically characterized for the first time. The barks showed the following composition: ash 14.6%, total extractives 13.2%, suberin 2.9% and lignin 28.2%.

α‐Synuclein aggregation landscape from phase separation to neurotoxic intermediates
Alpha‐synuclein aggregation in Parkinson's disease involves a complex landscape of transient intermediates, including oligomers, fibrils and liquid–liquid phase separation (LLPS). A view is emerging in which LLPS maturation into solid‐like condensates may contribute to the formation of neurotoxic species.

CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

Different Processing Practices and the Frying Life of Refined Canola Oil
Refined expeller-pressed (RCanO-I and RCanO-II) and expeller-pressed and solvent-extracted blended (RCanO-III and RCanO-IV) canola oils were compared to determine the effect of processing (extraction) practice on the frying life of canola oil.
