Diagnostic accuracy of urinary prostate protein glycosylation profiling in prostatitis diagnosis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Introduction: Although prostatitis is a common male urinary tract infection, clinical diagnosis of prostatitis is difficult. The developmental mechanism of prostatitis is not yet unraveled which led to the elaboration of various biomarkers. As changes in

The values of neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio and/or prostate-specific antigen in discriminating real Gleason score ≥ 7 prostate cancer from group of biopsy-based Gleason score ≤ 6

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2017
Background The discrepant concordance between biopsy and radical prostatectomy (RP) specimen are well reported. To validate the clinical usefulness of neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in discriminating real GS ≥ 7 PCa from biopsy-based GS ≤ 6 PCa in ...

The ‘P‐usher’, a novel protein transporter involved in fimbrial assembly and TpsA secretion [PDF]

open access: yesThe EMBO Journal, 2008
We identified a new bacterial transporter, the Pseudomonas aeruginosa CupB3 protein, which is an outer membrane usher involved in pili assembly. In CupB3, the usher domain has fused during evolution with a POTRA (polypeptide-transport-associated)-like domain found in TpsB transporters of two-partner secretion systems.

Role of inflammatory factors in prediction of Gleason score and its upgrading in localized prostate cancer patients after radical prostatectomy

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2023
PurposeTo investigate the role of inflammatory factors including systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) and neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in predicting Gleason Score (GS) and Gleason Score upgrading (GSU) in localized prostate cancer (PCa) after

Effect of seaweed on physical properties of thermoplastic sugar palm starch/agar composites

open access: yesJournal of Mechanical Engineering and Sciences, 2016
The aim of this paper is to investigate the physical properties of thermoplastic sugar palm starch/agar (TPSA) blend when incorporated with seaweed. The ratio of starch, agar, and glycerol for TPSA was maintained at 70:30:30.

Assessment of oligometastasis status of prostate cancer following combined robot-assisted radical prostatectomy and androgen deprivation versus androgen deprivation therapy alone using PSA percentage decline rate

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2023
ObjectiveTo compare the tumor control in prostate cancer patients with oligo-metastasis following combined robot-assisted radical prostatectomy and androgen deprivation versus androgen deprivation therapy alone based on total prostate-specific antigen ...

Terzyme: a tool for identification and analysis of the plant terpenome. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
BACKGROUND: Terpenoid hydrocarbons represent the largest and most ancient group of phytochemicals, such that the entire chemical library of a plant is often referred to as its 'terpenome'.
