THE PRESENCE OF INTERFERING ANTIBODIES IN SELECTED CONTROL SERA ON THE EXAMPLE OF A SET FOR DETERMINATION OF tPSA [PDF]

open access: yesHealth Problems of Civilization, 2016
The human sera often contain substances which interfere in the course of immunochemical reactions. lt is essential for the control sera used to determine concentrations of antigen of the prostate not to contain such ingredients. The aim of this study was to test the control sera, three producers, containing low (N) and high (P) concentrations of ...

New Hydrazone Derivatives Featuring Isatin and Piperazine Moieties: Synthesis, Cytotoxicity Evaluation, and Molecular Modeling Studies

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this study, ten novel compounds (IPH1–IPH10) were designed by integrating three pharmacophores (isatin, piperazine, and hydrazone) commonly found in the molecular structures of anticancer agents. The target molecules were obtained by the reaction of in‐house prepared 4‐(4‐(pyridin/pyrimidin‐2‐yl)piperazin‐1‐yl)benzohydrazide with various ...

Development of an Efficient and Scalable Process for Preparing Timolol N‐Nitrosamine Impurities B, C, E, H, I, J, and Their ADMET Evaluation

open access: yesJournal of Heterocyclic Chemistry, EarlyView.
N‐nitrosamine impurities (B, C, E, H, I, J) of timolol maleate are easily synthesized from diethyl malonate and 3,4‐dichloro‐1,2,5‐thiadiazole. Good yields and precise impurity profiling are made possible by the effective technique, which also ensures pharmaceutical safety and strengthens regulatory compliance.

The significance of TPSA, free to total PSA ratio and PSA density in prostate carcinoma diagnostics

open access: yesActa chirurgica Iugoslavica, 2007
Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) is the one of the most valuable tumor markers for the early detection and management of prostate carcinoma, but not an ideal one because of poor specificity in the case of prostatic hypertrophy and other benign conditions.

A two‐stage model for precise identification and Gleason grading of clinically significant prostate cancer: a hybrid approach

open access: yesJournal of Medical Radiation Sciences, Volume 72, Issue 1, Page 93-105, March 2025.
This study developed a two‐stage model using radiomics‐based multiparametric MRI and clinical indicators to help identify and grade clinically significant prostate cancer. The model showed promising levels of diagnostic accuracy and predictive performance.

Interchangeability and Diagnostic Accuracy of Two Assays for Total and Free Prostate-Specific Antigen: Two not Always Related Items

open access: yesThe International Journal of Biological Markers, 2007
The variation between different PSA assays seems to influence the interpretation of individual PSA values and the clinical decisions about prostate cancer.

Trehalose is required for the acquisition of tolerance to a variety of stresses in the filamentous fungus Aspergillus nidulans [PDF]

open access: yes
Trehalose is a non-reducing disaccharide found at high concentrations in Aspergillus nidulans conidia and rapidly degraded upon induction of conidial germination. Furthermore, trehalose is accumulated in response to a heat shock or to an oxidative shock.

Modeling and Simulation of a TPSA System for a Vinyl Chloride/Nitrogen Separation from Industrial Streams

open access: yesIndustrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 2018
A temperature pressure swing adsorption (TPSA) system was developed to purify and recover the unreacted vinyl chloride (VCM) in a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plant. A literature review on adsorbent materials was performed for the adsorption equilibrium separation of VCM and nitrogen (N2). Using a one-dimensional (1D) mathematical model, a 7-step, 2-column

Novel reference gene microseminoprotein‐beta based prostate cancer antigen 3 urine test: Enhanced diagnostic performance for prostate cancer and feasibility of non‐digital rectal examination urine sampling

open access: yesUroPrecision, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The diagnosis of prostate cancer (PCa) is limited by low specificity and invasiveness. This study aims to establish a highly accurate, noninvasive reverse transcription‐quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT‐qPCR)‐based urinary prostate cancer antigen 3 (PCA3) assay system and explore the feasibility of using first‐morning urine

Accurate Cut-off Point for Free to Total Prostate- Specific Antigen Ratio Used to Improve Differentiation of Prostate Cancer from Benign Prostate Hyperplasia in Iranian Population

open access: yesUrology Journal, 2010
Purpose: Our aim was to determine a more predictive cut-off value for free to total prostate-specific antigen ratio (f/tPSA) to better differentiate prostate cancer (PCa) from benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) in Iranian patients with serum PSA levels ...
